Review: Black like me
Paningin na pang Editoryal - Kirkus ReviewsWhat's happened since Black Like Me was published in 19607 In an epilogue to this second edition, Griffin describes his continued involvement in the civil rights movement of the Sixties. As part of a loose confederation of public advocates, he traveled widely, often as a kind of consultant to cities which blindly overlooked the talents of their own black citizens. Still skeptical of those rumors about outside agitators, he witnessed and experienced considerable harassment, especially from law enforcement officials. In scanning the legislation, flare-ups, and leadership changes of those years, he notes the disengagement of whites who felt rejected and identifies the most recent development, the black drift toward separatism as a response to entrenched condescension and indifference to racism.

Paningin ng isang mambabasa - Evalyn - GoodreadsVery good account of the author's experience. It is well written and it is sad that the living conditions for many were so deplorable and that Griffin had to blend in to tell that experience so that the whites could believe the conditions they were forcing blacks to live in. Paningin ng isang mambabasa - JP Teti - GoodreadsRacism, race-relations, and the like do not interest me. That being said, this is among the most honest and least inflammatory takes on the matter I've seen, and in that regard, I appreciated it. I would not recommend it unless you are particularly interested in race-relations. Read full review
