CHAP. III. Paul warneth of false teachers, &c. FINALLY, my brethren, rejoice in Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not grievous, but for you it is safe. 2 Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision. 3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the Spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh: 4 Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more: 5 Čircumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee; 6 Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteous28 Him, therefore, I hope to sendness which is in the law, blameless. presently, so soon as I shall see how it will go with me. 24 But I trust in the Lord, that I also myself shall come shortly. 7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. 8 Yea, doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of 25 Yet I supposed it necessary the knowledge of Christ Jesus my to send to you Epaphroditus, my Lord: for whom I have suffered the brother, and companion in labour, loss of all things, and do count them and fellow-soldier, but your mes-but dung, that I may win Christ, senger, and he that ministered to my wants. 26 For he longed after you all, and was full of heaviness, because that ye had heard that he had been sick. 9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith; 10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; 11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. CHAP. IV. Admonitions and exhortations, &c. THEREFORE, my brethren, dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved. TH 2 I beseech Euodias, and beseech 4 Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. I ho 5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. 6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. 9 Those things which ye have both learned and received, and heard and seen in me, do; and the God of peace shall be with you. 10 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity. 11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content 12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where, and in all things, 1 am instructed, both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 18 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. 14 Notwithstanding, ye have well done that ye did communicate with my affliction. 15 Now, ye Philippians, know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me, as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only. 16 For even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity..... 17 Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account. br181 But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you,an odour of a sweet smell,a sacri fice acceptable, well-pleasing to God. 19 But my God shall supply all your need, according to his riches in glory, by Christ Jesus. 20 Now, unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever.
