will hear me from his holy Names. Dan. ii. 28. But there is a God in the Names which revealeth Secrets. Pfal. lvii. 5, 11. Be thou exalted, O Aleim, above the Names. Deut. xxxii. 40. For I lift up my Hands to the Names, and fay, I live for ever. The fame as Ifa. xlv. 23. I have fworn by myself. So Dan. xii. 15. When he held up his right Hand and his left Hand to the Names, and fware by him that liveth for ever. I have defcribed their Dominion in this Syftem. I fhall add, Gen. xlix. 25. Who fhall bless thee with the Bleffings of the Names above. Deut. xxxiii. 13. Bleffed of the Lord be his Land, for the precious Things of the Names, for the Dew, and for the Deep that coucheth beneath. I have fufficiently fhewed, that thefe Names were claimed or reclaimed by Creation, Formation; by Miracles, or making them act contrary to their regular Courses, and by Cautions; as Deut. iv. 19. Left thou lift up thy Eyes to the Names, &c. The firft Confeflion in falfe Worfhip was made under thefe Names: And 'tis faid that was their Pretence, that Part of the Honour should be paid to the Subftitutes, Minifters. 'Twas then in a Mixture, between the true and falfe Names, as the Word Babel expreffes.

The next Step was Diffention and Separation, which split these three into the following diftinct Names and Attributes.

I am to observe, that, as I have fhewed, God fays, Let the Earth roll round and proceed in a Circle; fo 'tis faid, 1 Chron. xvi. 31. Pfal.xcvi. 11. &c. Let the Names

rejoice. As I have obferved frequently upon other Places, they have here applied the Idea carried to Spirit from Matter, and neglected the Idea which is in the Matter. Thefe Names cannot rejoice: But they can dance forward and backward in Lines, fo circulate. T. "To clarify, clear up, fhine." R. Pag. Merc. "To be clear, ferene, to fhine.' Prov. xiii. 9. Whence under the Term Light, Profperity, and Joy, are often expreffed, &c." From whence the Idea was taken and applied in their chief Service. P. " It implies a Threat, fays R. David, in his Book of Roots, as if it were, Rejoice, and thou wilt fee what will be the End of it. And fo it is to be taken, Amos iv. 4. Come to Bethel and tranfgrefs, (rebel) and Ezek. XX. 39. Go ye every one and ferve his Idols. Prov. v. 18. And rejoice with the Wife of thy Youth." This Action with Women is expreffed by the Word nybop hereafter mentioned; and the Ser

vice to the Names in Imitation of this Motion by their Worshippers at their Feafts was reclaimed. Pfal. xlv. 16. With Gladness and Rejoicing fhall they be brought. Job xxi. 12. And rejoice at the Sound of the Organ. Prov. xxix. 6. The Righteous doth fing and rejoice. And 'tis frequently applied to the Motion of the Heart, and from thefe conveys the Idea of rejoicing to the Mind. From this Motion not only the Light is begotten and if fued, the Spirit formed and returned; bụt all the Actions of the Names follow; and for those the following Names and Attributes, or Confeffions were given.

And because many well-meaning People have puzzled themselves and others with Notions about Signs, Wonders, Changes in Things, &c. I am also to obferve, that 'tis frequently faid, where any People who worshipped thefe Names or Branches of, or Powers in them, are predicted to be deftroyed; that 'tis alfo declared, that these Names fhall be then ftripped of their Power, Glory, or, &c. not really in their natural Actions, but appear as impotent Aleim, in the Sentiments of those who they fuffered to be deftroyed, and of their other Worshippers, who faw thofe deftroyed, according to the Predictions. Deut. xxxii. 40. I lift up my Hand to the Names, and fay I live for ever. 2 Sam. xxii. 8. The Foundations of the Names moved and shook. Job. xxvi. 11. The Pillars of the Names tremble, and are aftonished at his Reproof. Ifa. xiii. 10. For the Stars of the Names, and the Conftellations thereof, fhall not give their Light. The Light of the Sun fhall be darkened in his going forth, and the Moon fhall not cause her Light to shine. Verfe 13. Therefore I will shake the Names- -Ibid. xxxiv. 4. And all the Hoft of the Names fhall be diffolved, and the Names fhall be rolled together as a Scrole, and all their Hoft fhall fall down as a Leaf falleth off from the Vine, and as a falling Fig from the Figtree; for my Sword shall be bathed in the Names. Ibid. 1. 3. I clothe the Names with Blackness, and I make Sackcloth their Covering. Ibid. li. 6. For the Names fhall vanish away like Smoke. Jer. ii. 12. Be aftonifhed, O ye Names, at this, and be ye horribly afraid, be ye very defolate, faith Jehovah. Ibid. iv. 28. And the Names above be black. Ezek. xxxii. 7. And when I shall put thee out, I will cover the Names, and make the Stars thereof dark; I will cover the Shemosh

with a Cloud, and the Moon shall not give her Light; and all the Inftruments of Light of the Names will I make dark over thee, and fet Darkness upon thy Land. Joel ii. 10. iii. 16. Hag. ii. 6, 22. The Names fhall tremble. And as the Jews expect fome Sort of new State, and fome Chriftians I know not what, I muft obferve thefe Signs are all paft, and the new State is prefent, and thefe and the next leave a miferable Prospect for the Jews, and a glorious View for those Chriftians who will embrace the Opportunity. Ifa. li. 16. That I may plant the Names, and lay the Foundation of the Earth, and fay unto Zion, thou art my People. Ibid. lxv. 15. And ye shall leave your Name for a Curfe unto my Chofen, for Jehovah Aleim shall flay thee, and call his Servants by another Name

;

-for behold I create new Names, and a new Earth, (or Land) and the former fhall not be remembered, nor come into Mind.
