16. And he hath on his vesture, and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. 16. And I saw an angel standing in the fun: and he cried with a loud voice, Saying to all the fouls that flie in the midft of heaven, Come and gather your felves together unto the supper of the great God. 18. That yemay eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that fit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.

2. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old ferpent, which is the devil and fatan, and bound him a thousand years.

3. And caft him into the bottomless pit, and fhut him up, and fet a feal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years fhould be fulfilled: and after that, he must be loofed a little feafon.

4. And I faw thrones, and they fat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the fouls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jefus, and for the word of God; and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived, and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

5. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first refurrection.

6. Bleffed and holy is he that hath part in the first refurrection: an fuch the fecond death hath no power; but they shall be priests of

God, and of Chrift, and (ball reign with him a thousand years. 7. And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loofed out of his prifon.

8. And jhall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the fand of the fea.

9. And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compaffed the camp of the faints about, and the beloved city and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

10. And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and fhall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

11. And I faw a great white throne, and him that fat on it, from whofe face the earth and the heaven fled away, and there was found no place for them.

14. And death and hell were caft into the lake of fire: This is the fecond death.

15. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life, was caft into the lake of fire.

CHAP. XXI.

NDI faw a new heaven, and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more fea.

♦ 2. And I John faw the holy city, new Jerufalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her hus

band.

3. And I heard a great voice out of heaven, faying, Behold, the tabernacle of Godis with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

4. And

4. And God fhall wipe away all tears from their eyes: and there fhall be no more death, neither forrow, nor crying, neither Shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

5. And he that fat upon the throne, faid, Behold, I make all things new. And he faid unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

6. And he faid unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end: I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

6. He that overcometh fhallinherit all things, and I will be his God, and he shall be my fon.

8. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and forcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, fhall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

9. And there came unto me one of the feven angels which had the feven vials full of the feven last plagues, and talked with me, faying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lambs wife.

10. And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and fhewed me that great city, the holy Ferufalem, defcending out of heaven from God.

11. Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a flone most precious, even like a Fafper stone, clear as crystal :

12. And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Ifrael.

13. On the caft, three gates; on the north, three gates; on the fouth, three gates; and on the west, three gates.

14. And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

15. And he that talked with me, had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the walls thereof.

16. And the city lieth four square, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thoufand furlongs: the length and the breadth, and the heighth of it are equal.

17. And he measured the wall thereof an hundred and fourty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.

18. And

18. And the building of the wall of it was of jafper3 and the city was puregold, like unto clear glass.

19. And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious ftones. The first foundation was jasper; the fecond, fapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;

20. The fifth, fardonyx; the fixth, fardins; the feventh, chryfolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chryfoprafus; the eleventh, a jacinct; the twelfth, an amethyst.

21. And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was puregold, as it were transparent glass.

22. And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God almighty. and the Lamb are the temple of it.

23. And the city had no need of the fun, neither of the moon to fhine in it for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

24. And the nations of them which are faved fhall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour

into it.

25. And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there "Shall be no night there.

26. And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations

into it.

27. And there fhall in no wife enter into it any thing that defileth. neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or makethålie: but they which are written in the Lambs book of life.

CHAP. XXII.

ND he fhewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as cryftal, proceeding out of the throne of God, and of the Lamb. 2. In the midst of the street of it, and of either fide of the river, was there the tree of life; which bare twelve manner of fruits, and gielded her fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

3. And there shall be no more curfe: but the throne of God and of the Lamb fhall be in it; and his fervants shall serve him.
