CHAP. XLIV. 3.

3. For Iwill pour out water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my Spirit upon thy feed, and my blefling upon thy offspring.

CHAP. Lij. 1–6.

Wake, awake, put on thy ftrength, O Zion, put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerufalem, the holy city: for henceforth there fhall no more come into thee the uncircumcifed, and the unclean.

2. Shake thy felf from the dust: arife, and fit down, O Jerufalem: loofe thy felf from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion.

3. For thus faith the Lord, Ye have fold your felves for nought: and ye shall be redeemed without money.

4. For thus faith the Lord God, my people went down aforetime into Egypt to fojourn there, and the Affyrian oppreffed them without caufe.

5. Now therefore, what have I here, faith the Lord, that my people is taken away for nought? they that rule over them make them to bowl, faith the Lord, and my name continually every day is blafphemed.

6. Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day, that I am he that doth speak, behold it is I.

CHAP. LjV. I-10.

Ing, O barren, thou that didft not bear; break forth into finging, and cry aloud, thou that didft not travail with child: for more are the children of the defolate, then the children of the married wife, faith the Lord.

2. Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them ftretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: Spare not, lengthen thy cords, and Strengthen thy stakes.

3. For thou shall break forth on the right hand, and on the left; and thy feed fhall inherit the Gentiles, and make the defolate cities to be inhabited.

4. Fear not, for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded, for thoufhalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the Shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more.

5. For thy maker is thine husband (the Lord of hosts is his name;) and thy redeemer the holy one of Ifrael, the God of the whole earth. Shall be becalled.

6. For the Lord hathcalled thee as a woman forfaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused, faith thy

God.

7: For a small moment have I for faken thee, but with great mercies will I gather thee.

8. In a little wrath I hid my face from thee, for a moment; burwith everlafting kindness will I have mercy on thee, faith the Lord thy redeemer.

9. For this is as the waters of Noah unto me : for as I have fworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; fo have: Ifworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee.

10. For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed, but : my kindness fhall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace beremoved faith the Lord, that hath mercy on thee.

CHAP. LV. I-5.

O, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy and eat, yea, come buy wine and milk without money, and without price.

2. Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your foul delight it felf in fatness.

3. Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your Soul fball live, and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even : the fure mercies of David.

4. Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people.

5. Behold, thon fbalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee, fhall run unto thee, because of the Lord thy God, and for the holy One of Ifrael: for he bath glorified. thee.

CHAP. Lix. 20, 21.

20. And the redeemer fhall come from Zion, and unto them that turn from tranfgreffion in Jacob, faith the Lord. 21. As for me, this is covenant with them, faith the Lord, My Spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, fhall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy feed, nor out of the mouth of thy feeds feed, faith the Lord, from henceforth and for ever.

CHA P. LX. 18-22.

18. Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wafting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls falvation, and thy gates praise.

19. The fun shall be no more thy light by day, neither for brightnefs fhall the moon give light unto thee: but the Lord fhall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.

20. Thy funfhall no more go down, neither shall thy moon withdraw it fel: for the Lord fhall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.

21. Thy people also shall be all righteous: they fhall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.

22. A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: Ithe Lord will haften it in his time.

CHAP. LX. 3—11.

3. To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for afbes, the oyl ef joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the fpirit of heaviness, that they might be called trees of righteonfness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.

4. And they hall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the ́former defolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the defoNations of many generations.

5. And strangers fhall stand and feed your flocks, and the fons of the alien fhall be your plowmen, and your wine-dreffers.

6. But ye shall be named the priests of the Lord: men shall call

you the minifters of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory fhall you boast your selves.

7. For your shame you shall have double, and for confufion they fhall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall poffefs the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.

8. For I the Lord love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt-offering, and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.

9. And their feed fhall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that fee them shall acknowledge them, that they are the feed which the Lord hath bleffed.

10. I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God, for he hath clothed me with the garments of falvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth her felf with her jewels.

11. For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden caufeth the things that are fown in it to spring forth: fo the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the

nations.

'OR Zions fake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerufalems fake I will not reft, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the falvation thereof as a lamp that burneth.

2. And the Gentiles fhall fee thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the Lord fhall name.

3. Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the Lord, anda royal diadem in the hand of thy God.

4. Thou shalt no more be termed, Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed, Defolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzi-bah, and thy land, Beulah: for the Lord delighteth in thee, and thy land fall be married.

5. For as a young man marrieth a virgin, fofball thy fons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, fo fhall thy God rejoice over thee.

CHAP.

CHAP. LXV. 17-25.

17. For behold, I create new heavens, and a new earth: and the former fhall not be remembred, nor come into mind.

18. But be you glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for behold, I create Jerufalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy, 19. And I will rejoice in Jerufalem, and joy in my people, and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voico of crying.

20. There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years ald, but the finner being an hundred years old shall be accurfed.

21. And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they fball plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.

22. They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree, are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.

23. They fhall not labour in vam, nor bring forth for trouble : for they are the feed of the blessed of the Lord, and their offspring

with them.

24. And it fall come to pass, that before they call, I will anfwer, and whiles they are yet speaking, I will hear.

25. The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the the bullock: and dust shall be the ferpents meat. They fall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, faith the Lord.

CHAP. LXV. 18, 19, 22, 23.

18. For Iknow their works and their thoughts: it fball come, that I will gather all nations and tongues, and they fhall come and See my glory.

19. And I will fet a sign among them, and I will fend those that efcape of them, unto the nations, to Tarshish, Pul and Lud that draw the bow, to Tubal and Javan, to the ifles afar off, that have not heard my fame, neither bave seen my glory; and they fball declare my glory among the Gentiles.
