in the company, went a days journey, and they fought him among their kinf 45. folk and acquaintance. And when they
found him not, they turned back again 46. to Jerufalem feeking him. And it came to pass, that after three days they found
him in the Temple, fitting in the midst Jerufalem, Etat. 29. of the Doctors, both hearing them, and Luk. ii. asking them queftions. And all that 47. heard him were aftonished at his underftanding and answers. And when they 48. faw him they were amazed: and his mother faid unto him, Son, why haft thou thus dealt with us? behold thy father and I have fought thee forrowing. And he faid unto them, How is it that ye fought me? wift ye not that I must be about my Father's buftnefs: And they un- so. derstood not the faying which he spake unto them. And he went down with 51. them, and came to Nazareth, and was Nazareth. fubject unto them. But his mother kept all thefe fayings in her heart. And Jefus 52. increased in wisdom and ftature, and in favour with God and man,

heaven is at hand. For this is he Mat. iii. 3. that was spoken of by the Prophets, Luk. iii. 4. 2. [Malachi iii. 1.]* Saying bebold I fend my messenger before thy face which shall prepare thy way before thee [and by E3. Jaias xl. 3.] The voice of one crying in
the wilderness, prepare ye the way of the 5. Lord, make his paths ftraight. Every valley fhall be filled, and every mountain and hill fhall be brought low; and the crooked fhall be made ftraight, and the rough ways fhall be made Smooth; and all flefh fhall fee the falvation of God.

He answereth and faith unto them, He 11. that bath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none, and be that hath meat, let him do likewife.
Then came alfo (m) Publicans to be bap- 12. tized, and faid unto him, Mafter, what Shall we do?
Jordan. And he faid unto them exact no more Anno
And the Soldiers likewife demanded, of him, faying, and what shall we do? And he faid unto them, Da violence to no man, neither accufe any falfly, and be con tent with your (n) wages.

And Jefus when he was baptized 'Mar.i. 1o. went up ftraight way out of the water: 11. and lo the heavens were open'd unto Luke iii.22, him, and he faw the Spirit of God defcending in a bodily fhape * like a Dove 17. and lighting upon him. And lo a voice from heaven, faying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleafed. *And Jefus himself begun to be a bout thirty years of age.
