Difcourfes of Jefus with the Samari
THEN therefore the Lord knew, how the Pharifees had heard that Jefus made and baptized more difciples 2. than John, (though Jefus himself baptized not, but his difciples) * Now when Jefus heard [alfo] that John was caft into Prifon. He left Judea, and departed a- Mat. iv, 4. gain into Galilee, and he muft needs go 12. 5. through Samaria. Then cometh he to a City of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob 6. gave to his fon Jofeph.
