18. And be Thou my ftrong Rock and House of Defence, that Thou mayeft fave me.

19. For Thou art my ftrong Rock and my Caffle; be Thou also my Guide, and lead me for thy Name's-Sake. 20. Into thy Hands I commend my Spirit, for Thou haft redeemed me, O Lord, thou God of Truth.

21. I will be glad and rejoice in thy Mercy; for Thou haft confidered my Trouble, and haft known my Soul in Adverfities: My Hope hath been in Thee, O Lord: I said, Thou art my God, my Time is in thy Hand.

22. Shew thy Servant the Light of thy Countenance, and fave me for thy Mercy's-Sake.

23. Let me not be confounded, O Lord, for I have called upon Thee; let the Ungodly be put to Confufion, and be put to Silence in the Grave.

24. O how plentiful is thy Goodnefs, which Thou haft laid up for them that fear Thee; and that Thou haft prepared for them that put their Truft in Thee, even before the Sons of Men!

25. Thanks be to the Lord, for He hath fhewed me marvelous great Kindnefs: Thou heardeft the Voice of my Prayer, when I cried unto Thee.

26. O love the Lord, all Ye his Saints; for the Lord preferveth them that are faithful, and plenteously rewardeth the proud Doer.

27. Be ftrong and of good Courage, and He fhall eftablifh your Hearts, all Ye that put your Truft in the Lord.

28. BLESSED be God, even the Father of our Lord Jefus Chrift, the Father of Mercies, and the God of all Comfort. (2 Cor. i. 3.)

29. BLESSED be the God and Father of our Lord Jefus Chrift, which according to his abundant Mercy, hath begotten Us again unto a lively Hope, by the Refurrection of Jefus Chrift from the dead; to an Inheritance incorruptible and undefiled, that fadeth not away, reserved in Heaven for us: that the Trial of your Faith might be found unto Praife and Honor and Glory at the Appearing of Jesus Chrift;

30. Whom, having not feen, We love; in Whom, though now we fee him not, yet believing, we rejoice with Joy unfpeakable and full of Glory. (1 Pet. i. 3.)

Evening,

LESSED IS HE, whofe Tranfgreffion is forgiven, and whofe Sin is covered. (P. xxxii.)

2. Bleffed is the Man unto whom the Lord imputeth not Sin, and in whofe Spirit there is no Guile.

3. I acknowledged my Sin unto Thee, and mine Iniquity have I not hid; I faid, I will confefs my Tranfgreffions unto the Lord; and fo Thou forgaveft the Wickedness of my Sin.

4. For this fhall EveryOne that is godly make his Prayer unto Thee, in a Time when Thou mayeft be found: but furely in the Floods of great Waters they shall not come nigh unto him.

5. Thou art my hiding-Place, Thou fhall preferve me from Trouble; Thou shalt compass me about with Songs of Deliverance.

6. I will inform thee, and teach thee in the Way "wherein thou fhalt go; and I will guide thee with mine "Eye.

7. "Be Ye not like the Horse, or as the Mule, which "have no Understanding; whofe Mouths must be held in "with Bit and Bridle, left they fall upon thee.

8. " Many Sorrows fhall be to the Wicked: but whofo putteth his Truft in the Lord, Mercy fhall compass him on every Side."

9. Be glad, O ye righteous, and rejoice in the Lord; and fhout for Joy, all ye that are true of Heart.

10. REJOICE IN the Lord, O ye righteous; for it becometh well the Upright to be thankful. (Pf. xxxiii.)

11. Praise the Lord with Harp, fing Praifes unto him with the Lute, and Infrument of ten Strings fing unto the Lord a new Song; fing Praifes skilfully unto him, with a good Courage.

12. For the Word of the Lord is true, and all his Works are faithful.

13. He loveth Righteoufnefs and Judgement: the Earth is full of the Goodnefs of the Lord.

14. By the Word of the Lord were the Heavens made, and all the Hofts of them by the Breath of his Mouth.

15. He gathereth the Waters of the Sea together, as it were upon a Heap, and layeth up the Deep, as in a Treafure-Houfe.

16. Let all the Earth fear the Lord: ftand in awe of Him, all ye Inhabitants of the World.

17. For He fpake, and it was done, He commanded and it ftood fast.

18. The Lord bringeth the Counfel of the Heathen to nought, and maketh the Devices of the People to be of none effect, and cafteth out the Counfels of Princes.

19. The Counsel of the Lord fhall endure for ever, and the Thoughts of his Heart from Generation to Generation.

20. Bleffed are the People, whofe God is the Lord Jehovah; and bleffed is the Nation, that He hath chofen to him, to be his Inheritance.

21. The Lord looketh down from Heaven, and beholdeth all the Children of Men; from the Place of his Habitation He confidereth all them, that dwell on the Earth.

22. He fashioneth all the Hearts of them, and underftandeth all their Works.

23. There is no King, that can be faved by the Multitude of an Hoft; neither is any mighty Man delivered by much Strength.

24. A Horfe is counted but a vain Thing to fave a Man; neither fhall he deliver any Man by his great Strength.

25. Behold, the Eye of the Lord is upon them that fear Him; and upon them that put their Truft in his Mercy; to deliver their Soul from Death, and to keep them alive in the Time of Famine.

26. Our Soul hath patiently waited for the Lord; He is our Help and our Shield.

27. For our Heart fhall rejoice in Him, becaufe we have trufted in his holy Name.

28. Let thy merciful Kindnefs, O Lord, be upon Us, as We do put our Trust in Thee.

29. Now UNTO HIM that is able to keep us from falling, and to prefent us faultlefs before the Prefence of his Glory, with exceeding Joy: To the only wife God our Savior, be Glory and Majefty, Dominion and Power, both now and ever. Amen. (Jude 24.)

Morning.

WILL BLESS the Lord at all Times; his Praise fhall continually be in my Mouth. (Pf. xxxiv.)

2. My Soul fhall make her Boaft in the Lord; the humble fhall hear thereof and be glad.

3. O praife the Lord with me, and let us magnifie his Name together. I fought the Lord, and He heard me ; yea, He delivered me out of all my Fears.

4. Lo, the poor crieth, and the Lord heareth him, yea and faveth him out of all his Troubles.

5. The Angel of the Lord encampeth round about them. that fear Him, and delivereth them.

6. O tafte, and fee how gracious the Lord is: bleffed is the Man that trufteth in Him.

7. O fear the Lord, Ye that are his Saints; for they, that fear Him, lack nothing.

8. The young Lions do lack and fuffer Hunger; but they who feek the Lord, fhall want no Manner of Thing that is good.

9. Come, ye Children, and hearken unto me; I will teach you the Fear of the Lord. What Man is he; that defireth to live, and would fain fee many good Days?

10. Keep thy Tongue from Evil, and thy Lips that they fpeak no Guile; depart from Evil, feek Peace, and enfue it. II. The Eyes of the Lord are over the Righteous, and his Ears are open to their Prayers.

12. The Face of the Lord is against them that do Evil, to root out the Remembrance of them from the Earth. 13. The Righteous cry, and the Lord heareth them, and delivereth them out of all their Troubles.

14. The Lord is nigh unto them, that are of a contrite Heart; and will fave Such, as be of an humble Spirit.

15. Many are the Troubles of the Righteous; but the Lord delivereth him out of all.

16. He keepeth all his Bones, fo that not one of them is broken.

17. But Misfortune fhall flay the Wicked; and they, that hate the Righteous, shall be defolate.

18. The Lord redeemeth the Souls of his Servants; and All they, that put their Trust in Him, shall not be defti

19. IF THOU WOULDST feek unto God betimes, and make thy Supplication to the Almighty; if thou wert pure and upright, furely now He would awake for thee, and make the Habitation of thy Righteoufnefs profperous. (Job viii. 5.)

20. Though thy Beginning was fmall, yet thy latter End fhould greatly encrease.

21. For enquire, I pray thee, of the former Age, and prepare thyfelf to the Search of their Fathers:

22. (For We are but of Yesterday, and know nothing, because our Days upon Earth are as a Shadow.)

23. Shall not they teach thee, and tell thee, and utter Words out of their Heart? Can the Rufh grow up without Mire can the Flag grow without Water?

24. Whilft it is yet in his Greennefs, and not cut down, it withereth before any other Herb.

25. So are the Paths of All that forget God; and the Hypocrite's Hope fhall perifh: whofe Hope fhall be cut off, and his Truft fhall be a Spider's-Web.

26. He fhall lean upon his Houfe, but it shall not ftand; he fhall hold it faft, but it shall not endure.

27. He is green before the Sun, and his Branch fhooteth forth in his Garden; his Roots are wrapped about the Heap, and he feeth the Place of Stones.

28. If He destroy him from his Place, then it fhall deny him, faying, I have not feen thee.

29. Behold, this is the Joy of his Way, and out of the Earth fhall others grow.

30. Behold, God will not caft away a perfect Man, neither will He help the evil Doers.

31. 'Till He fill thy Mouth with laughing, and thy Lips with rejoicing: they, that hate thee, fhall be cloathed with
