Dismissal of a Good Scholar.
We offer, Lord, an humble prayer,
And thank thee for thy grace bestow'd,
In leading one beneath our care

Thus far in wisdom's pleasant road.

Whatever to his lot may fall,

What toilsome duties to fulfil,-
We do not know; but in them all
Be thou his strength and comfort still.

May Jesus be his constant friend-
The Bible his support and stay;
And may thy Spirit, Lord, descend,
To bless and guide him day by day.

Asleep in Jesus.
Asleep in Jesus! blessed sleep
From which none ever wakes to weep-
A calm and undisturbed repose,
Unbroken by the last of foes.

Asleep in Jesus! O for me
May such a blissful refuge be:
Securely shall my ashes lie,
And wait the summons from on high,

Asleep in Jesus! time nor space Affects this precious hiding-place; On Indian plains or Lapland snows Believers find the same repose.
