we do not well; this day is a day of good tidings; and we hold our peace :-if we tarry till the morning light, some mischief will come upon us ; now, therefore come, that we may go and tell the king'a household.-2 Kings, 7.9.

MILLENNIAL TIDINGS.

Revelations of John the Divine, 1.7.

"Behold he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him; and they also which pierced him; and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of HIM. Even so, Amen."

THE contents of the Epistle written by Joseph Wolff, to the church of Christ in England and Ireland, dated at Jerusalem, April 20th, are highly important to the people of God in my native country. Very recently I saw this testimony for the first time. It fell into my hands providentially, as I may well say, reviewing all the circumstances connected with its introduction to me.

When my eyes surveyed his declaration concerning the glorious Advent of King Jesus in 1847, I was filled with sensible rapture, and sincerely echoed to the tidings "Come Lord Jesus,” come in triumph, and reign in great power and glory.

I had enjoyed my "new treasure," (which was conveyed to me on a piece of an old newspaper,) but a short time, when the thought struck my mind, that this letter would be as gratefully received by others, who are "waiting for the consolation of Israel," as it had been welcomed by the way-faring pilgrim stranger.

I concluded to spread the tidings among "the King's household," by re-publishing the letter, in the form of a Tract; and to introduce with it a brief abstract of the Author's early life. This I view highly necessary, for several reasons-1. The reader may inquire, "Who is Joseph Wolff, and what his pretensions and character? He takes high ground-he assumes the high authority of prophecy."-This is true-and the candid reader is entitled to all the information in my power (as re-publisher) to give, concerning this very remarkable man.

I am happily furnished with well authenticated documents, completely answerable to the case in question; and am assured in my own mind, that a divine providence gives me these facilities to improve for his American children, who tremble for the holy Ark, in this era of Apostacy from truth "as it is in Jesus." At my hands it is required to rescue from oblivion in America, Joseph Wolff's prophetical letter; and to exhibit to my dear christian friends in the United States, who and what he is.

And First,--Joseph Wolff is a natural descendant of Abraham, the ancient Chaldean, who is honored (among other titles) with the appellation "friend of God." Secondly,-He is the brother of * Jesus Christ, because he "believeth in him whom
