And hails the prospect sweet,

When Joseph shall be carried home,
To Judah at Jerusalem,

And bow at Shiloh's feet.

A Hymn for Indian ministers of the glorious Gospel of Messiah.

1.

O! Thou who died that I might live,
Let me declare thy gracious Name,
Call on my brethren to believe

On Christ; and cry "Behold the Lamb!"

2.

I'll say, "repent, the kingdom's nigh,"
Our Shiloh hastens from afar,

On wings of pitying love he'll fly,

And come, the Indian's " Morning Star.”

3.

I'll tell them whiskey to forsake,
Crying, 'tis satan's bait to kill,

O! Chocktaw, Cherokee come take,
Pure water from the forest rill.

4.

I'll preach about thy Blessed Word,
In which the weakest soul may find
Comfort and strength to bear the rod,
And grace to cheer the fainting mind.

5.

I'll shout the Holy Gospel power,
Unto Salvation full and free;
A fortress, rock, and mighty tower,
For thee, poor Indian, yea—for thee!

6.

O! I will preach, and weep, and pray,

The forest echo me will join,

To point my fellows to the day,

When Shiloh will on Zion shine.

END.

Having paid the expenses of publishing six hundred copies of No. 2, M. T., second edition, (subsequently to issuing No. 3,) I venture again upon the cost of Number Four, with nothing but the Tidings to meet my Printer's bills; and very small encouragement of an outward nature, to offer my books; however, I must do it. My mind is pacified by the toil, and the mortifications I endure; for a hope, that my testimony will be of some service to the Indians, and a determination to try to comfort them, stimulates my willing spirit to persevere; and the weak suffering flesh is forced to yield; for my conscience testifies, that "in simplicity, and godly sincerity, not by worldly wisdom, but by the grace of God," I write, and publish true tidings of the King's return to bless His household.

My calling to sound salvation, has been tested in years gone by, that it was of the Lord; for sinners were converted to Him; and my present work is like a seal set to my vocation, that it is sacred in sight of my adorable Saviour, whose unworthy servant I profess to be; therefore, from henceforth let no persons trouble themselves about my singular course; but see to their own, and "ponder the paths of their feet," lest they stumble into the pit, or get entangled in the snare; for the windows of judgment are
