ISE, O my foul! the hours review,
When aw'd by guilt and fear,

Thou durft not heav'n for mercy fue,
Nor hope for pity here.

Dry'd are thy tears, thy griefs are fled;
Difpell'd each bitter care!

See! heav'n itfelf has lent its aid,
To raife thee from defpair.

Hear then, O God! thy work fulfil !
And from thy mercy's throne;
Vouchsafe me ftrength to do thy will,
And to refift my own.

So fhall my foul each power employ,
Thy mercies to adore ;

Whilft heav'n itself proclaims with joy,
One pardoned finner more.
