the gate, and narrow 'is' the way, which le'adeth un'to life, and few there be that find it.

15 Beware of false proph'ets, which come to you in she'ep's clothing, but in'wardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gath'er gra'pes of tho'rns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good' tree bringeth forth good' fruit; but a corrupt tree brin'geth forth e'vil fruit. 18 A good' tree can'not bring forth e'vil fruit, ne'ither 'can' a corrupt' tree bring forth good' fruit. 19 Every tree that brin'geth not forth good' fruit is hewn down, and cast' in'to the fi're. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

21 Not every one that sa'ith un'to me, Lo'rd, Lo'rd, shall en'ter in'to the kingdom of heaven; but he that do'eth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Man'y will say to me in that day, Lo'rd, Lo'rd, have we not proph'esied in thy name? and in thy name have cast' out devils? and in thy name done man'y won'derful works? 23 And then will I profes's un'to them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniq'uity.

24 Therefore, whosoever he'areth these sa'yings of mi'ne, and do'eth them, I will li'ken him un'to a wi'se man, which built his house upon a rock; 25 And the ra'in descen'ded, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon' that house; and it fell not for it was foun'ded upon' a rock. 26 And every one that he'areth these sa'yings of mi'ne, and do'eth them not, shall be likened un'to a fo'olish man, which built his house upon' the sand; 27 And the ra'in deşçen'ded, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and be'at upon' that house; and it fell and grea't was the fall of it.

28 And it came to pas's, when Je'sus had en'ded these sa'yings, the pe'ople were aston'ished at his doc'trine: 29 For he taught them as 'one' having authority, and not as the scri'bes.

CHAP. VIII.— When he was come down from the moun'tain, grea't mul'titudes followed him. 2 And, behold, there came a lep'er and wor'shipped him, sa'ying, Lo'rd, if thou wilt, thou canst make me cle'an. 3 And Je'sus put' forth 'his' hand, and touched him, sa'ying, I will; be thou cle'an. And immediately his lep'rosy was cleansed. And Je'sus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself' to the prie'st, and of'fer the gift that Mo'ses comman'ded, for a tes'timony un'to them.

And when Jesus was en'tered in'to Caper'naum, there came un'to him a centurion, bese'eching him, 6 And sa'ying, Lo'rd, my servant li'eth at home sick of the palsy, grie'vously tormen'ted. And Jesus saith un'to him, I will come and he'al him. The centurion an'swered and said, Loʻrd, I am not worthy that thou should'est come un'der my roof'; but spe'ak the word o'nly, and my servant shall be healed. For I am a man un'der authority, hav'ing sol'diers un'der me: and I say to this 'mạn,' Go, and he go'eth; and to anoth'er, Come, and he com'eth; and to my servant, Do this, and he do'eth it.' 10 When Jesus heard 'it,' he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Ver'ily I say un'to you, I have not found so grea't fa'ịth, no, nọt in Israel. 11 And I say un'to you, That man'y shall come from the e'ast and west, and shall sit down with A'braham, and I'saac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven: 12 Bụt the children of the kingdom shall be cast' out in'to out'er darkness there shall be we'eping and gnash'ing of teeth. 13 And Je'sus said un'to the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast belie'ved, 'so' be it done un'to thee. And his servant was he'aled in the self-sa'me hour.

14 And when Jesus was come in'to Pe'ter's house, he saw his wife's moth'er la'id, and sick of a fe'ver. 15 And he touched her hand, and the fe'ver left her and she aro'se, and min'istered un'to them.

16 When the even was come, they brought un'to him man'y that were posses'sed with devils: and he cast' out the spirits with 'his' word, and he'aled all that were sick : 17 That it might be fulfilled which was spo'ken by Eṣa'ias the prophet, sa'ying, Himself' took our infirmities, and ba're 'our' sic'knesses.

18 Now, when Jesus saw grea't mul'titudes about him, he gave command'ment to depa'rt un'to the other si'de. 19 And a certain scri'be came, and said un'to him, Mas'ter, I will follow thee whithersoev'er thou go'est. 20 And Je'sus sa'ith un'to him, The fox'es have ho'les, and the birds of the a'ir 'have' nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay 'his' head. 21 And anoth'er of his disci'ples said un'to him, Lo'rd, suf'fer me first to go and bur'y my fa'ther. 22 But Jesus said un'to him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.

23 And when he was entered in'to a ship, his disciples followed him. 24 And, behold, there aro'se a grea't tem'pest

in the sea, insomuch' that the ship was covered with the waves but he was asleep. 25 And his disci'ples ca'me to 'him,' and awo'ke him, sa'ying, Lo'rd, sa've us: per'ish. 26 And he saith un'to them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he aro'se, and rebu'ked the winds and the sea; and there was a grea't calm. 27 But the mẹn ma'rvelled, sa'ying, What man'ner of man is this, that e'ven the winds and the sea obe'y him!

28 And when he was come to the other side, in'to the coun'try of the Gergese'nes, there met him two possess'ed with dev'ils, com'ing out of the to'mbs, exce'eding fie'rce, so that no man might pass' by that way. And, behold, they cri'ed out, sa'ying, What have we to do with thee, Je'sus, thou Son of Go'd? art thou come hith'er to torment' us befo're the time? 30 And there was a good' way off from them an herd of man'y swi'ne fe'eding. 31 So the dev'ils beso'ught him, sa'ying, If thou cast' us out, suf'fer us to go awa'y in'to the herd of swi'ne. 32 And he said un'to them, Go. And, when they were come out, they went in'to the herd of swi'nę; and, behold, the who'le herd of swi'ne ran vi'olently down a steep place in'to the sea, and per'ished in the wa'ters. 33 And they that kept them fled, and went their ways in'to the city, and to'ld ev'ery thing, and what was befallen to the possessed of the dev'ils. 34 And, behold, the whole city came out to me'et Je'sus; and when they saw him, they beso'ught him' that he would depa'rt out of their co'asts.

CHAP. IX.—1 And he entered in'to ship, and pass'ed o'ver, and came into his o'wn city. 2 And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, ly'ing on a bed: and Jesus, seeing their faith, said un'to the sick of the palsy, Son, be of good' che'er; thy sins be forgiv'en thee. 3 And, behold, certain of the scri'bes said within' themselves, This 'man' blasphe'meth. And Je'sus, knowing their thoughts, said, Wherefore think ye e'vil in your hearts? 5 For wheth'er is easier to say, "Thy' sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Ari'se, and walk? 6 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Ari'se, take up thy bed, and go un'to thine house. 7And he aro'se, and departed to his house. But when the mul'titudes saw it,' they ma'rvelled, and glo'rified Go'd, which had given such pow'er un'to men.

9 And as Je'sus pass'ed fo'rth from thence, he saw a man,

na'med Matth'ew, sitting at the rece'ipt of cus'tom: and he sa'ith un'to him, Follow me. And he aro'se, and followed him.

And it came to pass', as Je'sus sat at me'at in the house, behold, man'y pub'licans and sin'ners came and sat down with him and his disci'ples. And when the Phar'isees saw it,' they said un'to his disci'ples, Why eateth your Mas'ter with pub'licans and sin'ners? 12 But when Je'sus heard 'that,' he said un'to them, They that be who'lę ne'ed not a physic'ian, but they that are sick. 13 But go ye and learn what' 'that' me'aneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice for I am not come to call the right'eous, but sin'ners to repentance.

14 Then came to him the disci'ples of John, sa'ying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast' oft, but thy disci'ples fast' not? 15 And Je'sus said un'to them, Can the children of the bri'dechamber mo'urn as long as the bri'degroom is with them? but the days will come when the bri'degroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast'. 16 No man put'teth a piece of new cloth un'to an old garment; for that which is put' in to fill it up ta'keth from the garment, and the rent is made worse. 17 Neither do men put' new wi'nę in'to o'ld bottles; else the bottles brea'k, and the wi'ne run'neth out, and the bottles per'ish: but they put' new wi'nę in'to new bottles, and bo'th are preserved.

18 While he spake these things un'to them, behold, there ca'me a certain ruler, and wor'shipped him, sa'ying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live. 19 And Je'sus aro'se, and followed him, and 'so did' his disci'ples.

20 (And, behold, a wom'an, which was dise'ased with an iss'ue of blood twelve years, ca'me behind him,' and touched the hem of his garment: 21 For she said within' herself', If I may but touch his ga'rment, I shall be whole. 22 But Jesus turned him about' ; and when he saw her, he said, Da'ughter, be of good' com'fort; thy fa'ith hath made thee who'le. And the wom'an was' made who'le from that hour.)

23 And when Je'sus ca'me in'to the ruler's house, and 24 He saw the min'strels and the pe'ople making a noise, said unto them, Give pla'ce; for the ma'id is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to sco'rn. when the pe'ople were put fo'rth, he went in, and took' her by the hand, and the ma'jd aro'se. 26 And the fa'me hereof' went abroad in'to a'll that land.

27 And when Je'sus depa'rted thence, two bli'nd mẹn fol'lowed him, cry'ing, and sa'ying, "Thou' son of Da'vid, have mercy on us. 28 And when he was come in'to the house, the blind men ca'me to him: and Je'sus sa'ith un'to them, Belie've ye that I am able to do this? They said un'to him, Yea, Lo'rd. 29 Then touched he their eyes, sa'ying, Acco'rding to your faith be it un'to you. 30 And their eyes were o'pened: and Je'sus stra'itly charged them, sa'ying, See "that' no man know it.' 31 But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fa'me in all that coun'try.

32 As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possess'ed with a dev'il. 33 And when the dev'il was cast' out, the dumb spa'ke; and the multitudes ma'rvelled, sa'ying, It was nev'er so se'en in Israel. 34 But the Pharisees said, He cast'eth out dev'ils through the prince of the dev'ils. 35 And Je'sus went about' a'll the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and pre'aching the gospel of the kingdom, and he'aling ev'ery sickness and every disease amon'g the pe'ople.

36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compass'ion on them, beca'use they fa'inted, and were scat'tered abroad, as she'ep having no shepherd. 37 Then sa'jth he un'to his disci'ples, The harvest truly 'is' plen'teous, but the labourers are' few: 38 Pray ye therefore the Lo'rd of the harvest, that he will send forth la'bourers in'to his harvest.

CHAP. X. And when he had called un'to him' his twelve disciples, he gave them power against'' uncle'an spirits, to cast' them out, and to heal a'll man'ner of sick'ness and all man'ner of disease. 2 Now the na'mes of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Si'mon, who is called Pe'ter, and A'ndrew his broth'er; Ja'mes 'the son' of Zeb'edee, and John his broth'er; 3 Phil'ip, and Bartholomew; Thom'as, and Matthew the pub'lican; Ja'mes the son of Alphe'us, and Lebbe'us, whose sur'name was Thadde'us; Si'mon the Ca'naanite, and Ju'das Iscariot, who also betrayed him.

5 These twelve Je'sus sent fo'rth, and comman'ded them, sa'ying, Go not in'to the way of the Gen'tiles, and in'to 'an'y' city of the Samaritans en'ter ye not: 6 But go rath'er to the lost she'ep of the house of Israel. 7 And, as ye go, pre'ach, sa'ying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. 8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lep'ers, ra'ise the dead, cast' out dev'ils: fre'ely ye have received, fre'ely give. 9 Provi'de neither gold, nor silver, nor bras's in your purses; 10 Nor
