O Lord there is not one that can do as Thou doest.

All nations whom Thou hast made shall come and worship Thee, O Lord and shall glorify Thy Name.

For Thou art great, and doest wondrous things: Thou art God alone.

Teach me Thy way, O Lord, and I will walk in Thy truth: O knit my heart unto Thee, that I may fear Thy Name.

I will thank Thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart and will praise Thy Name for evermore. For great is Thy mercy toward me and Thou hast delivered my soul from the nethermost hell.

O God, the proud are risen against me and the congregations of naughty men have sought after my soul, and have not set Thee before their eyes.

But Thou, O Lord God, art full of compassion and mercy long-suffering, plenteous in goodness and truth.

O turn Thee then unto me, and have mercy upon me give Thy strength unto Thy servant, and help the son of Thine handmaid.

Show some token upon me for good, that they who hate me may see it, and be ashamed: because Thou, Lord, hast holpen me, and comforted me.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost;

As it was in the beginning, is now, shall be world without end. Amen.

PSALM LXXVII.

Voce mea ad Dominum.

and ever

WILL cry unto God with my voice: even unto God will I cry with my voice, and He shall hearken unto me.

In the time of my trouble I sought the Lord : my sore ran, and ceased not in the night-season; my soul refused comfort.

When I am in heaviness, I will think upon God when my heart is vexed, I will complain.

Thou holdest mine eyes waking': I am so feeble, that I cannot speak.

I have considered the days of old and the years that are past.

I call to remembrance my song and in the night I commune with mine own heart, and search out my spirits.

Will the Lord absent Himself for ever and will He be no more intreated?

Is His mercy clean gone for ever and is His promise come utterly to an end for evermore?

Hath God forgotten to be gracious and will He shut up His loving-kindness in displeasure?

And I said, It is mine own infirmity: but I will remember the years of the right hand of the most Highest.

I will remember the works of the Lord and call to mind Thy wonders of old time.

I will think also of all Thy works and my talking shall be of Thy doings.

Thy way, O God, is holy who is so great a God as our God?

Thou art the God that doeth wonders and hast declared Thy power among the people.

Thou hast mightily delivered Thy people: even the sons of Jacob and Joseph.

The waters saw Thee, O God, the waters saw Thee, and were afraid the depths also were troubled.

The clouds poured out water, the air thundered and Thine arrows went abroad.

The voice of Thy thunder was heard round about the lightnings shone upon the ground; the earth was moved, and shook withal.

Thy way is in the sea, and Thy paths in the great waters and Thy footsteps are not known. Thou leddest Thy people like sheep by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost;

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be world without end. Amen.

FRIDAY.

PSALM VI.

Domine, ne in furore.

rebuke me not

indignation:

neither chasten me in Thy displeasure.

Have mercy upon me, O Lord, for I am weak : O Lord, heal me, for my bones are vexed.

My soul also is sore troubled: but, Lord, how long wilt Thou punish me?

Turn Thee, O Lord, and deliver my soul : 0 save me for Thy mercy's sake.

For in death no man remembereth Thee : and who will give Thee thanks in the pit?

I am weary of my groaning; every night wash I my bed and water my couch with my tears.

My beauty is gone for very trouble and worn away because of all mine enemies.

Away from me, all ye that work vanity: for the Lord hath heard the voice of my weeping.

The Lord hath heard my petition: the Lord will receive my prayer.

All mine enemies shall be confounded, and sore vexed they shall be turned back, and put to shame suddenly.

:

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost;

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be world without end. Amen.

HE AREA

SATURDAY.

PSALM CXLIII.

Domine, exaudi.

TEAR my prayer, O Lord, and consider my desire hearken unto me for Thy truth and righteousness' sake.

And enter not into judgement with Thy servant for in Thy sight shall no man living be justified.

For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground: he hath laid me in the darkness, as the men that have been long dead.

Therefore is my spirit vexed within me and my heart within me is desolate.

Yet do I remember the time past; I muse upon all Thy works: yea, I exercise myself in the works of Thy hands.

I stretch forth my hands unto Thee my soul gaspeth unto Thee as a thirsty land.

Hear me, O Lord, and that soon, for my spirit waxeth faint hide not Thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit.

O let me hear Thy loving-kindness betimes in the morning, for in Thee is my trust: show Thou me the way that I should walk in, for I lift up my soul unto Thee.

Deliver me, O Lord, from mine enemies : for I flee unto Thee to hide me.

Teach me to do the thing that pleaseth Thee, for Thou art my God : let Thy loving Spirit lead me forth into the land of righteousness.

:

Quicken me, O Lord, for Thy Name's sake and for Thy righteousness' sake bring my soul out of trouble.

And of Thy goodness slay mine enemies and destroy all them that vex my soul; for I am Thy servant.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost;

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be world without end. Amen.

The Lesson.

OD is light, and in Him is no darkness at all.

and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: but if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin. 1 S. John i. 5, 6, 7.

The Hymn.

THOU to Whose all-searching sight The darkness shineth as the light, Search, prove my heart; it pants for Thee; O burst these bands and set it free!

Wash out its stains, refine its dross;
Nail my affections to the cross;
Hallow each thought; let all within
Be clean, as Thou, my Lord, art clean.

If in this darksome wild I stray,
Be Thou my Light, be Thou my Way;
No foes, no violence I fear,

No fraud, while Thou, my God, art near.

When rising floods my soul o'erflow,
When sinks my heart in waves of woe,
Jesu, Thy timely aid impart,

And raise my head, and cheer my heart.

Saviour! where'er Thy steps I see,
Dauntless, untired, I follow Thee:
O let Thy hand support me still,
And lead me to Thy holy hill!
