Thy faithful people, especially to all who are join-

LORD, my God, for my being, life, endowment with reason, nourishment, preservation, guidance, education, religion; for Thy gifts of grace and nature; for my redemption and regeneration; for Thy forbearance and long-suffering towards me even until now; for all from whom I have received any good; for them, if any, whom I have done any good unto; for the use of Thy present good things; for Thy promise and my hope of enjoying future good things; for all Thy mercies, known or unknown, manifest or secret, remembered or forgotten by me, I praise Thee, I bless Thee, I give Thee thanks, and I will praise, and bless, and give Thee thanks all the days of my life. What reward shall I give unto the Lord for all the benefits that He hath done unto me? What thanks can I render unto God for all wherein He hath spared me? Holy,

Holy, Holy! Thou art worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honour and power, for Thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are and were created. Amen.

O Thou that hearest prayer, unto Thee shall all flesh come.-Ps. lxv. 2.

Or, the Form of Confession, p. 6.

UR Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, As it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; But deliver us from evil: For Thine is the kingdom, The power, and the glory, For ever and ever. Amen.

LORD, my God and Father, blessed be Thy Name for ever; Dispose my heart, open my lips, and guide me by Thy Holy Spirit, that my prayers and praises may be acceptable in Thy sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Then the Collect for the day from the Book of Common Prayer, and the seven Prayers following, or any of them, or one for each day of the week.

SUNDAY.

LORD, I lift up my soul unto Thee; my God,

be confounded, neither let mine enemies triumph over me. Show me Thy ways, O God, and teach me Thy paths. Lead me forth in Thy truth and learn me, for Thou art the God of my salvation; in Thee is my trust all the day long. Call to remembrance, O Lord, Thy tender mercies and

MONDAY.

LORD, give me such grace that I may seek Thee while Thou mayest be found, and call upon Thee whilst Thou art near; that I may forsake the wickedness of my ways, and abhor the unrighteousness of my own imaginations; that I may return unto Thee, and Thou have mercy upon me, in Jesus Christ, my only Saviour and Redeemer. Amen. (109)

TUESDAY.

MY my trouble, humility in success,

Y Lord and my God, I beseech Thee to give

constancy in temptations, and victory against all my ghostly enemies. Grant me sorrow for my sins, thankfulness for Thy benefits, fear of Thy judgements, love of Thy mercies, and mindfulness of Thy presence for evermore. Amen. (110)

WEDNESDAY.

OECEIVE, O Lord, I beseech Thee, my prayers; dread; for Thou, through Thy Christ, art the only hope of sinners, and through Him I trust to be forgiven my iniquities. Amen.

mercy and truth; Thou judgest truly for ever; remember me and look upon me; punish me not according to my sins, or my ignorances, or my fathers' which have sinned before Thee; deal not with me according to my sins, but as seemeth best to Thee, O Lord, my strength and my salvation. Amen.

FRIDAY.

LORD, though I be afflicted on every side, let

of Thy comforts, yet not of all; though I be chastened, yet let me not be forsaken; though I be cast down, yet let me not be destroyed; and, though my outward man perish, yet let my inward man be renewed daily, even for Jesus Christ His sake. Amen. (113)

SATURDAY.

LORD Almighty, O God of Israel, the soul that is in trouble, and the spirit that is vexed, crieth unto Thee; Hear, O Lord, and have mercy, for Thou art merciful, and have pity upon me, because I have sinned before Thee. For Thou endurest for ever, but, unless Thou have mercy, I utterly perish. Have mercy, therefore, even for Jesus Christ His sake. Amen. (114)

O Lord, open Thou my lips,

And my mouth shall show forth Thy praise.

O God, make speed to save me.

O Lord, make haste to help me.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost;

As it was in the beginning, is now, shall be world without end. Amen.

writing of ordinances that was against us. Christ my God hath worked out salvation in the midst of the earth, spreading out His undefiled arms upon the Cross, as though He would clasp all to His bosom. See then, my soul, that thou be unblemished and fit for that pure embrace. Once suffered as a little child to come to thy Lord,
