My dame sends her love to you, Becky, and the young men; and so does the Coalheaver. God bless you all.

My dear friend will say that I have forgotten her, though my answers cannot be longer on the road than hers are. We have had a sick house; my dame has long kept her bed, and I have had a bad cough, cold, and fever; but Christ is our healing balm and saving health, our life, and the length of our days.

When the various accounts for building the Chapel were sent in, amounting to £8600, we wanted £1800 to complete that sum, which was subscribed within a few days, and the whole debt paid off. And we now see verified what was spoken during the conflagration of the old chapel, when one of our enemies exclaimed, “Where is Providence Chapel now?” Some one among the crowd answered, “I would lay the world, if I had it, that Huntington gets a better chapel, and a larger one.-You see if he don't.”

Next Sunday week, however, if God permit, they are to be informed that all our expenses are paid. This will knock down Şanballat ; for truly men's hatred to God and his worship is most dreadful; and true it is, that they who are not with Christ are against him, and they that gather not to him do scatter from him. And we know that the same enmity, hatred, and rebellion, are alive in us all, showing to our sorrow, that they are born of the flesh, and are flesh, loving the lusts of the flesh, and despising God. But that which this carnal mind does and favours, “I allow not,” says Paul, “therefore it is not I,” the saint; nor grace, that makes me a saint; “but sin that dwelleth in me.” And this sin, or corruption, or the flesh, or the law in the members, or the old man, or the evil imagination, or the carnal mind, (for it goes 'by all these names) will live and work in us, and clog, plague, hinder, and interrupt us, as long as we are in:

this world. But the good Spirit will banish it from the soul at death, and from the body at the resurrection, when the
