CHAP. XXI.

21 Then let them which are in Judæa flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.

22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are 'written may be fulfilled.

23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! for

Y DEUT. xxviii. 25, 48: The LORD shall cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies: thou shalt go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them; and shalt be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth. Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the LORD shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee. DAN. ix. 26, 27: After threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. ZEC. xi. 1, 6: Open thy doors, O Lebanon, that the fire may devour thy cedars. For I will no more pity the inhabitants of the land, saith the LORD; but, lo, I will deliver the men every one into his neighbour's hand, and into the hand of his king: and they shall smite the land, and out of their hand I will not deliver them. do. xiv. 1, 2: Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall de divided in the midst of thee. For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem shall forth into to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.

24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

25 And there shall be 'signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth 'distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

MARK, xiii. 24, 25: But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken. 2 PET. iii. 10, 12: But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burnt up. Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat.

C DAN. xii. 1: And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people : and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth; for the "powers of heaven shall be shaken. 10 27 And then shall they see the Son of man 'coming in a cloud with power and great glory."1 28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your 'redemption draweth nigh.

29 And he spake to them a "parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;

30 When they now shoot forth,12 ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.

31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye 13 that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.

32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.

33 Heaven and earth 'shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any
