The baptism of one of the adults above reported, proved to be a truly interesting case. It was that of a converted Jewess. She lived to the age of 45 before she sought and found an interest in Christ her Lord. She was indeed a miracle of grace. She survived her baptism but a few months, when the Lord called her from the Church militant below, to the Church triumphant above.

Last summer, the congregation at Mount Savage erected a neat and beautiful church edifice, at the cost of one thousand dollars. It was consecrated by the Bishop, on the second Sunday in November. I found it necessary to resign the charge of the Cumberland Valley congregation, on account of the distance, which will account for the reduction in the number of communicants.

The old and venerable church of St. Anne's, which has so long been an object of interest to every Churchman, and attracts the attention of all those who visit the capital of the State, has during the last six months been thoroughly repaired and materially improved, at an expense of about eleven hundred dollars. The exterior and interior woodwork was painted, the tower roof renewed, the decayed timber removed, the tombstones, so long and improperly used as stepping-stones, placed in suitable positions in the yard, and granite steps substituted, the aisles carpeted, the chancel enlarged, the pulpit changed in its form, and rendered convenient for use, a marble communion table substituted for that which was unsuitable on account of its faded drapery, and chairs of becoming form and appearance placed in the chancel. This church is open on all those days for which there are extra services provided, while on Wednesday and Friday evenings
