their own judges sacrificed his own daughter to the god of war! The Greeks also abolished human sacrifices, as the Greek Gelon in his treaty with the Carthagenians had an express stipulation, that they "should abstain in future from all sacrifices of men." And so did the Persians, for their king Darius had also forbidden that. This pre-eminently proves that mind finally triumphed over the superstition of priestocracy in this degradation of humanity. Its full triumph has to come yet. Let Americans will it, as they at once ought, and that triumph will be glorious.

But how much then have the prophecies of the Jews been lauded? In what did they excel the oracles and soothsayings of the balance of the pagan world? In mere assertions, and not in their excellence. Bibles do not justify, for all had codes or their bibles. If you have been caught thereby, that is your misfortune. How much have those been caught in the laudation, been victimized from the thousands to Miller and his followers? What avail pretended superior prophecies any more than oracles, if they cannot be deciphered, but befool all that attempt it? The magnificent empire of rational mind must overrule all such pretences, in the fragments of peculiar faith! The observation of national customs, gives some further tuition. The Egyptians embalmed their dead, and must have poured an immense revenue to the priests from that source. Living or dying, their dynasty ruled with fearful and ominous supremacy that was most flagitious.

What mighty revolutions are going on among nations, creeds, and localities of those creeds.

Countries that were once Jew, are now Mahometan. Those that were once Christian have been long since Mahometan, as, Armenia, Syria, Egypt, Ethiopia, the Ottoman empire, including a portion of the Greek church still christian. The mighty city of Constantinople, founded by the arch-juggler Constantine, is that of the Mahometans. Egypt has had no less than three kinds of peculiar faith. Their literature is altogether perished.

How came it destroyed? Was not this the work of pernicious peculiar faith? The Persian is but little and imperfectly known, except through other ancient literature.

The Jew literature has been rarely subject to exact criticism, as the critics have been afraid to touch it rightly, so great is the influence of the day and time on the side of

church and state.

How came ancient mythologies overthrown? All that is accomplished, has been by the light of mind. The balance that is left is by the perversion of succeeding systems of peculiar faith, all to be overthrown by rational religion, in the organic conservative revolutions of the world.

The establishment of most, if not all, has been by the sword; of one of the main ones is especially due the sword of Constantine, who established Christianity as the faith of the empire, and whose vices have been overlooked therefor.

Philosophers were banished from the empire by Justinian, to promote Christianity. All peculiar bibles are smuggled contraband counterfeits.

What are all bibles but the emanations of mind, in every way prepared, adopted, maintained or rejected?

If those of tradition, they are those of its perversion.

It was mind, though perverted, that decided by the censorship of the Rabbis, what was the bible; and that decides all such bibles are governmental policies.

Bibles are voted on by mind, in caucus, written for the deception of mind by perverted mind.

Mind interprets and plans, the peculiar machinery.

With what face can any honest man ask to impose the code of ethics of a half civilized people in their shepherd state, as the Jews, on whom "Moses, learned in all the learning of the Egyptians," imposed it along with others originally?

With all their learning, what but barbarism could afford the Egyptian idea of a god so peculiar, as having a son by a woman, a perfect incongruity? Why do not philanthropists and patriots, philosophers and monotheists come out, and teach the people aright? Are the most culpable, sharers of the spoils of the people? or more superstitious than they? Wisdom calls for principles, as eternal all the time. Rational mind takes proper cognizance of councils of Nice, and their designs, and exposes them as vile collusions on the world.

Now the god that wrote bibles, or dictated them, positively perverted peculiar minds of the chosen peculiar people.

Mind peculiarly perverted, did all that. If this be denied, let the first be proved, as it ought to be always, for the satisfaction of mind universally. All God's functions are universal.

The world, the universe-marks would prove it-known to all nations, of course; not coincident, but caused.

But the whole was rightly and wisely done at once, at creation; and that disproves all men's bibles.

God's bible is the universe, for mind to study.

But the superstitious fear of hell fire, pious frauds, church power and earthly vassalage, and such influence, hold the dependent mind in bondage on all this subject.

But philosophy decides this subject, and has nothing to do but expose all their bibles! The bible!!

Which of the various bibles of tradition claim this exemption? That of Moses, and its affiliated new testament? Upon what grounds? That of inspiration!

What is the proof? If that proof be truth, your answer must be that; philosophical science has nothing less.

We have to listen to the voice, wisdom, and rationality of philosophical science to prove the God of nature; and we must not drop this absolutely necessary position of philosophy, because it excludes all bibles of tradition at the same time.

Then the bible is only pre-eminent by a greater amount of pious fraud, more successful competition and absolutism. Many affecting to lean to traditional persuasion, have candidly to confess that they only believe a part of the old testament; and of course invalidating the whole, assuredly including the new testament that depends on the old testament, and has its underpinning knocked from under it.

All bibles of tradition are the base works of priests, and are a part of the machinery of absolute government.

What a tyranny of mind to yield to the bible of any peculiar faith, the power of governing mind about religion, exclusive of reason!

The time has passed nearly among civilized people who are free, that military priestocracies or miracle-mongers can trifle or traffic away the senses and liberties of the people. I seek to assail no true bibles.

But you, citizens of the world, claim that the writers of the bibles are inspired. Whom did God inspire?

Each claims a peculiar inspiration as right. Which is right?

The amount of your mutual condemnations, is a sum of moral, social and religious evils. The iniquity of all bibles of tradition is directly proved, their integrity impeached by their self-contradictions, and, above all, by the supreme testimony of nature, the noble representative and exponent of the Creator, who elaborated it with his creative genius, and presides over it most sublimely by his conservative principles, functions and attributes most perfect.

But you interpose that the Jews were a peculiar people, and still are so, though diffused among the nations of the earth. And are not many of the orientals, as the Chinese, Hindoos, Thibetans, also the Gypsies peculiar people too? The last were probably oriental, formerly of Egypt, and are now emphatically distinct from the nations of Europe, among whom they roam and sojourn.

Peculiarity begets peculiar vices, not virtues.

What was behind Moses' works, but the peculiar power of absolutism? There can be no inspiration peculiar, as the only inspiration is that of mind by genius and science, not found in bibles of tradition.

The Mormons have as much authority for their bible, which comes as near to inspiration, as any other tradition.

But tradition absolutely kills inspiration, as they are both antagonistical !

If books already printed were handed man by God, we then might call them God's word.

We require positive proof direct that such could be the word of God, as who but God could endorse it?

All else is perjury. To whom has God's word been revealed? Who can truly endorse that, and swear to it without perjury? Destitute as Moses and all others such were of true science, will you entrust them with the deepest science, that of mind and religion, when they only exhibit peculiar faith, not the shadow, nor its shade? There should be no faltering in this position. All bibles of tradition have kept back all suitable improvements in ethics, whilst we are actually in debt to mind for the sustaining them, when these bibles cause perversions, sophistry and violence to the rights of mind. There is no bible but that of rational mind, and that cultivated in supreme civilization only thus limited by philosophical science. You must take into consideration, who endorses all the bibles of tradition. Their endorsers are perjurers. The education about all such books may be as peculiar and false as they. Mind enlightened on its own trust fund only, can correct it. A liberal rational education always is needed, to meet

this world-wide subject, to secure the conservative principles of virtue, to save us best from the malign influences of supposed evil, and prevent society from being disorganized. These bibles offer no advantage any ways equal to, much less independent of principles; and they do not, cannot define principles with an ever watchful integrity.

Enlightened and honest minds disapprove, dissent from, and censure most justly the bibles of tradition, without exception, that are to be accursed by enlightened ages.

But narrow contracted minds can assert with ignorant rashness and impudent recklessness, that their particular one is the one of God! They quote blindly that God's word is true. But it is man's word-priests' word.

We are after the facts of the case.

The priests and preachers have played on the sympathies of human nature, and taken advantage of it.

What is the testimony of God on this earth?

Only his works of creation—the universe.

God must prove to us that any bible is his word.

Man cannot prove it, however he asserts it.

Who endorses his assertion? Dupes or hypocrites.

Tradition of unlettered people is not certain-it is not of valid certainty, and can be no testimony of creation. It is any thing else, as its ignorance and error are clearly impeachable. All such tradition was for effect on weak minds. It is the faith and tradition of priestocracies intending to deceive and lie by bibles.

What can all these bibles of tradition inculcate, but the miserable errors of the whole world?

What bible of tradition can compare with the constitution of this Union? What have all these bibles to compare with the moral and intellectual power of the declaration of independence. Is there any bible of tradition, the word of truth? You cannot get at the truth by tradition-that is an impossibility. All historians know this. Consult all savage nations for a direct proof.

If bibles of tradition are true, prove it by the proper documents. That of inspiration proves the bible of Moses. Without proof as it is, bible inspiration is only assertion. Now, what proves and endorses the inspiration? None!

If God were concerned in the inspiration he would speak, but he is silent, while his works prove all his.

No testimony that contradicts itself, as all these bibles, is valid. There are many errors and absurdities, the grossest falsehoods and intolerable ignorance scattered over the best bibles of tradition.

Can divine writings show any errors and contradictions ?

Time, the very best authority representing God's inspiration, has contradicted all and denied their authenticity, and of course has put an end to them all before the tribunal of enlightened and honest minds.

All their miracles are fortunately mere mind-jugglery, its most vulgar fictions, else creation would have been ruined, as miracles are destructive not conservative.

All their prophecies are assumptions, and if right are only the analogy of proper sense, but self-disproved by their own clearest perjury. Are these writings those of the authors assumed. Who endorses all such? If not, how were they inspired? Have not these records been falsified? The writers are perjurers.

Do we hear of the thousands of men assuming to be prophets, that were unfortunately not authors, and therefore not known? Were not the oracles of the heathen equally in this category? Who are all the authors of bibles of tradition? All are mortals of perverted minds, practising the worst deceptions and falsehoods. Who will commit themselves to such a position? The slave, coward, ignorant dolt and corrupters.

After all the pretended divine command of circumcision exclusively to the Jews, Herodotus asserts, on the authority of Gibbon, that the Syrians of Palestine, who were the Jews, according to their own confession had received from Egypt the rite of circumcision. The best portraitures as drawn by peculiar faith, deform all the bibles of tradition.

The god of Judaism is very imperfect, because those people had but little in the advance of civilization and science of their times. In fact they retrograded, as all such impostors will ever do. The prophecies and miracles of Mahomet were founded on these and the new testament, another emanation, producing a faith that has now one hundred and forty millions of followers.

It is time that freemen should rid themselves of all the fables and legends of antiquity about bibles of tradition, such as all these three, and all the absurdities and impositions entailed thereby as by the Mormons.

The Mahometan faith is destitute of priesthood or sacrifice, but is made of ceremonies and rites, arising from a victorious fanatic, who substituted them for idolatry, and which were confirmed by subsequent wars. He was the sovereign pontiff.

But an available pilgrimage is instituted, as a part of this faith. What does it all avail the pilgrim?

Is there any evil latent in the human mind, any species of passion, any action of fanaticism, that peculiar faith does not arouse or engender?

We have the old, then the new testament, then the bible of Mahomet, the koran, then that of Joe Smith, with many efforts to build up intermediately hundreds of other faiths. Open the door for the first false position, and the whole world is liable to be overflooded without limit and mercy. Bad as the imposition was at the first in the darkest ages, it is degradingly worse now if propagated in the face of mind's progress. To arrest any one, we must arrest all this felony. Neither age nor custom can legitimatize any of it. The paramount sovereignty of mind and morals, demand all conservative revolution. Moses, and all like him, were ignorant blundering priests, or the tools of priestocracies. The bibles of tradition are to enslave, and have enslaved, not render free and enlightened, but to pale the light, corrupt and demoralize the mind. Circumcision is a vile custom of superstition and priestocracy, and an absurdity provable by physiology.

Can pseudo-moralists adhere to any exploded and obsolete ideas, because their ignorant forefathers called them the fixed ones of a bible, itself a false pretence from beginning to end?

What higher obligation than that of universal justice, principle and reason, can demand the exclusion of all such? If this be an age of principles and rational light of mind, it cannot be that of any bible of tradition. Any one that opposes this position is a bigot and sectarian.

The bibles of tradition are thought by some to supply food for the soul, but, they have not the proper base.

Where, bible tinkers, would be the soul or mind in the mean time, unless it were under the especial providence of God's principles, that are adequate for eternity?

Every mind or thinking faculty, from conception to the time of reaching instruction of mind by its varied rational education, must have its vacuum filled, and that can only be by God. The objects of sense appreciation are all his created works, and can be only recognised from him.

Entirely worthless as peculiar faith when exposed is, yet some pretend that they have found out what philosophy never had and could. Then all their discoveries are certainly worth nothing, for if philosophy cannot recognise it, it is killed dead by its own worthlessness.

Moses, affecting to have God talk face to face to him, cannot be considered less than a perjurer. After all the wonderful fictions, letting the priestocracy lie all it could about the bible, self-condemnation is written on every page. The Jews, by their own adopted history, are portrayed as wicked. They became pirates on neighboring nations, between whom war was almost a trade. They fought among themselves for ages, with civil wars as sets of barbarians, and their peculiar faith figures most conspicuously in this matter. They practised idolatry, and were enslaved often by neighboring nations. They united church and state, to the odious feature of their despotisms.

Idolatry and impiety were constituents of their peculiar faith. The Jews were often in captivity, and suffered for treachery. They became scattered over the world from this cause; vast numbers remained at Babylon and never returned to Palestine. Vast numbers were settled at Alexandria by Alexander.

Many were carried into captivity into Egypt by the Greek king, and many were settled in many Asiatic cities, as subject as the world to universal causes and effects, thereby convicting their bible of perjury.

Why the persecutions of any, especially the Jews?

Peculiar faith answers to all others. Millions have been persecuted for their peculiar faith, for which they were victimized. They have been sadly misused, in nearly all lands, for centuries. It was not the fault of their peculiar faith intrinsically, as it was the misfortune of their position to prevent the impunity. There is the secret of intoleration.

The Jews are merchants generally, incapable of satisfying the world of peculiar faith, rarely seeking agriculture or civil offices. Apply the mildest views, yielding figurative and metaphorical language to scripture, instead of the proper exposition of facts, yet this will expose, by truth and honesty, the duplicity of this foul code of priestocracy. The bible versions give but meagre and diversified accounts of creation, after all the puffs of affiliation.

Their different periods of creation are too essential to be admitted. Can the great differences be the inspirations from God? They are of bibles. The one and the same God cannot differ from himself, however peculiar bibles may be. The adoption of his authority is the admission of his unity, and that decides the utter condemnation of all those different pretences for bibles. They are only apologies for bibles, no more, most conclusively. Their peculiar creations are a peculiar god, of a peculiar earth, and heavens still worse, that can be rolled up as a scroll, and whence angels were driven, where devils were made!

The whole ever proves an abortion, as all have to be renewed, and this idea renders man dissatisfied with his lot, and a miserable skeptic in God's unity, goodness, and perfection.

There are no such monsters, in the God of Nature's creation. None but priestocracies, as blasphemous as ignorant, and both as avaricious, could have originated all these ignoble fictions called bibles.

Shall the Orientals, who made eunuchs and mutilated the body by circumcision, committed unnatural crimes, odious vices, debased the mind, deprived woman of her rights and privileges, with an arrogancy most degrading, that finally embraced the horrible idea of denying her a soul, enslaved freemen to menials, characters so odious, be esteemed masters of morals?

You hear the constant theme of inspiration and revelation from 'the lips of those pulpit people, who can give you no satisfaction on that, the first and last, the only essential question in the whole subject!

The great question is, whether the account given is the true account? You can make nothing out of all the bibles of tradition, but they are fictions of priestocracies. Some of the names of the authors of some of the books, as the evangelists, are not really or substantially the authors, but fictions, doubtlessly used by the priestocracies.

Some people believe no more than what it is their interest for them to believe. This is too great a subject to have the world deceived in. Are you, citizen, going to entrust to the priestocracy to investigate for you your lifetime, when they originated the whole systems extant, and are bound to sustain the faith collusion at every hazard and by all

means?

Is that wise or right? Why do you not all begin to do right at first, dismiss all your blasphemous priestocracy humbugs, peculiar faiths, superstitions, as messiahships? The bible of Judaism distorted God, and defined matters that betray the ignorant position of its writers, as heavens, heart and ends of the earth, the prince of the power of the air. No wonder other priests made themselves familiar with the peculiar god of Judaism, who was so compliant with author priests.

Judaism idolizes priestocracies, and their idolatrous creations. Had this bible been an humble effort to describe God, as mind thus understood him, all had been well, for it had been the only true bible, assuredly the bible of mind; but the God of Nature was caricatured, polluted by priestocracies, libeled throughout nature, in his characteristics. The bible of mind can convince any mind at once, if honest and truthful, and not disgraced and polluted by the craftship.

The bibles of tradition have libeled nature and mind; of course the God of nature and mind.

The gospels were written several years after the events are said to have transpired, by the foster-fathers of the so-called evangelists. Clement is supposed to be Matthew, Eusebius is Paul, &c. The world must get rid of dire false pretences, mest detestable bible of tradition heresies, such bible despotisms, such absolutisms of priestocracies, conspiracies against good morals, religion, and the rights of mind, all the low quibbles of social obligations, all the Oriental vassalage of mind.

Jews, you can do the world some good at once, by stopping the false Old Testament, that stops the New Testament, that is false, as well as the koran, and the bible of the Mormons. Freemen, intelligent minds of the world, will you shrink from your religious duty of analyzing your proper position? Let truth and honesty be your motto, if the universe fall. People of the world, can you analyze your position, that of the world?

The bible of mind preaches its own doctrines-satisfactorily. Complex ideas cannot be nurtured much in the savage state; hence we have the meagre and confused account of the creation, as given by the bible of Judaism.

But you ask for justice to be done poor Moses, who might not have existed, as far as we know, except through the priestocracies. Would Moses know himself, if he were ever on earth, and to reappear? How many different dresses, how many editions, altered editions of priestocracies, have there been about all this affair?
