UNIVERSITIES.

OXFORD.

Lincoln College.-A vacant Fellowship will be filled up on Friday, Nov. 11. Candidates must be natives of the old diocese of Wells.

On Monday, Oct. 10, a Congregation was holden, at which the degree of Master of Arts was conferred on the Rev. J. L. Sheppard, of Wadham College.

The Rev. Philip Winter, D.D., president of St. John's College, has entered upon his duties as Vice-Chancellor for the ensuing year.

New College. Mr. Thomas John Hearn has been admitted Actual Fellow of New College, as of kin to the founder.

St. Mary Hall.-A Dyke Scholarship is vacant in this college.

Oct. 18.-Yesterday the Rev. George Domville Wheeler, M.A.. and the Rev. Charles Nevinson, Scholars of Wadham college, were admitted Actual Fellows of that society.

The Professorship of Moral Philosophy is at present vacant by the resignation of Dr. Stocker.
