King of Glory? The Lord ftrong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O you gates, even lift them up, ve everlasting doors, and the K of Glory fhall come in. Who is the King of Glory? The Lord of Hofts. He is the King of Glory.

Aaron, Eleazar. You will not accufe the Royal Father of our Meffiah of blafphemy. He fpeaks of the immenfe glory Chrift fhould be honoured with, and pofitively avers that he is the Divinity.,

Mordecai, Abfalom. We declare Aaron and Eleazar guilty, with Mofes, of blafphemy, and according to the high-prieft, Caiphas, worthy of death.

Mofes. I proclaim and announce Jefus Chrift "God and the promised Meffiah, myself his creature and a Chriftian.

Aaron, Eleazar. Dear Rabbi, for the honour and cause of our forefathers, retract thofe words, and do not fuffer thefe mifchievous wranglers influence to warp reafon and religion.

Mofes. I have no caufe against my nation. fo far from it, I would, and I think I fpeak my fentiments, offer my life to fee my nation chriftian.

Mordecai, Abfalom. You need not fear our influence over Rabbi Mofes. You should rather be fearful of his two affociates, Luther and Calvin. hib

Mofes. There was little danger from either of you, as I at all times abhorr'd mal-contents. Jofbua, Nebemiah. Six of us, dear. Rabbi, formed a confederacy to confute the chriftian

tenets

tenets; but when we engaged, both scripture and reafon disarmed and compelled us to yield. We therefore confefs ourfelves vanquifhed, and with you affirm Chrift our Lord and Meffiah. We desire to put an end to this Conference, and repair to the chriftian priesthood for inftruction.

Boy. It will be proper, before we break up the conference, to know the chriftian faith in the Godhead, Incarnation, Death and Refurrection of Chrift. Here it is.

Whofoever will be faved, before all things it is neceffary that he hold the. Catholic Faith; which faith, except every one do keep whole and undefiled, without doubt he fhall perifh everlastingly. And the Catholic Faith is this: That we worship one God in Trinity, and Tri-, nity in Unity; neither confounding the perfons, not dividing the fubftance. For there is one perfon of the Father, another of the Son, and another of the Holy Ghoft. But the Godhead of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghoft is all one; the glory equal, the majefty co-eternal. Such as the Father is, fuch is the Son, and fuch is the Holy Ghoft. The Father uncreate, the Son uncreate, and the Holy Ghoft uncreate. The Father incomprehenfible, the Son incomprehenfible, and the Holy Ghoft incomprehenfible. The Father eternal, the Son eternal, and the Holy Ghoft eternal; and yet they are not three eternals, but one eternal. As alfo, there are not three incomprehenfibles, nor three uncreated, but one uncreated, and one incomprehenfible. So likewile the Father is almighty, the Son almighty, and the Holy

Ghoft

Ghoft almighty, and yet they are not three almighties, but one almighty. So the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Ghoft is God, and yet they are not three Gods, but one God. So likewife the Father is Lord, the Son is Lord, and the Holy Ghost is Lord, and yet not three Lords, but one Lord. For, as we are compelled by the chriftian verity to acknowledge every perfon by himself to be God and Lord, so are we forbidden by the Catholic Religion to fay, there be three Gods, or three Lords. The Father is made of none; neither created, nor begotten. The Son is of the Father alone, not made, nor created, but begotten. The Holy Ghoft is of the Father,, and of the Son, neither made, nor created, nor begotten, but proceeding. So there is one Father, not three Fathers, one Son, not three Sons, one Holy Ghoft, not three Holy Ghosts. And in this Trinity none is afore, or after other; none is greater or less than another; but the whole three perfons are co-eternal together and co-equal. So that in all things, as aforefaid, the Unity in Trinity, and the Trinity in Unity is to be worshipped. He therefore that will be faved, muft thus think of the Trinity. Furthermore, it is neceffary to everlasting falvation, that he also believe the Incarnation of our Lord Jefus Chrift. For the right Faith is, that we believe and confefs, that our Lord Jefus Chrift, the Son of God, is God and man; God of the fubftance of the Father, begotten before the worlds; and man of the fubftance of his Mother, bor in the world; Perfect God, and

although he be God and man, yet he is not two, but one Chrift; one, not by the converfion of the Godhead into Besh, but by taking the manhood into God: one altogether, not by confuifion of fubftance, but by unity of perfon. For as the reasonable foul and fleth is one man; fo God and man is one Chrift, who fuffered for our falvation, defcended into hell, rote again the third day from. the dead. He afcended into heaven, he fitteth on the right-hand of the Father, God Almighty, from whence he fhall come to judge the living and the dead. At whofe coming all men fhall Tife again with their bodies, and fhall give account for their works. They that have done good, fhall go into life everlasting, and they that have done evil, into everlafting fire. This is the Catholic Faith; which, except a man believe faithfully, he cannot be faved.

Mofes. I confefs myfelf your debtor, and that to you only, by the grace of God, I owe my converfion. Happy conference with your father and Calvin, when I called you in, to explain the chriftian tenets. I heartily acquiefce and fubmit to the expofition of the chriftian faith, and all things the church of Christ commands. I am ready to attend you to the altar of Chrift, there proftrate and implore assistance from the priest.

Proverbs. Wisdom hath builded her house; The hath hewn out her seven pillars. Of who

does the wife Solomon fpeak but of Chrift, the wisdom of the Father, as the chapter before expreffes. The Lord poffeffed me in the beginning of his way before his works of old. I was fet up from eternity. When there was no depths, I was brought forth. Before the mountains were fettled, before the hills were, I brought forth. When he prepared the heavens I was there: when he fet a compafs upon the face of the depth: then I was by him as one brought up with him and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him; and my delights were with the fons of men.

Wisdom hath builded her house, the Chriftian Church. She hath hewn out her feven pillars, the feven Sacraments. She hath killed her beafts, the facrifices and worship of the Jewish or first covenant. She hath mingled her wine; he hath alfo furnished her table. Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled, the worship or facrifice of the new or Chriftian Covenant. We will clofe this Conference, and repair to the altar of Christ.

FINIS.
