Michael Kearny Treasurer of the Eastern Division of New Jersey delivered to this board the Sum of one hundred and Seven pounds nine Shills procl money being part of five hundred fourty one pds ten Shills & 6a procl money wch was to be raised out of the Eastern division for y° year Seventeen hundred & twenty six by virtue of An Act of Generall assembly of yo province Intituled an act for an additionall Support of Government & makeing current fourty thous pounds for that & other purposes therein mentioned

Mr Michael Kearny treas of the Eastern division of New Jersey haveing Informed this board that the Collector of y' County of Somerset had not delivered unto him any Copy of y assesment made within the Said County of Somerset nor An Acct of y deficiencies in that County if any Such there

be pursuant to y° directions of the acts of Generall assembly of this province

Ordered that m2 Kearny do write to the Collector of the County of Somerset to Acquaint him that this board has ordered that the Said Collector do within two months from the date hereof Send to the treas of this Collony an exact Copy of y assessment of Each town Division & precinct with in the Said County of Somerset & an Exact Acct of the deficiencies in the S County If any Such there be pursuant to the Sa Acts of assembly and that in case of y° sd Collectors Neglect or default it is ordered that his majty Attorney Generall prosecute the S Collector for the penalty appointed by the S4 Acts for Such his Default or Neglect

John Allen Esqr Treas of the Western Division of New Jersey Delivered to this board the Sum of four hundred Sixty Eight pounds Nineteen Shills procl money being in full of the Quota of the Western division aforesd for the year Seventeen hundred and twenty six, Ten pounds Nine Shills & Six pence part of the afores Sum of four hundred Sixty Eight pa nine teen Shills being y defficiencies for y year of our Lord 1725 wth Said Sum was raised by Virtue of An Act of Generall assembly of the Said province Intituled An Act for an additionall Support of Governm* & makeing Current fourty thous" pds for that & other purposes therein mentioned

All which Bills were Cancelled before this board According to the Directions of the afores Act of Assembly and According to the Directions of an other Act Entituled An Act concerning the appointment of the Comiss" of the Loan office & Concerning the Sinking of four thous pds in Bills of Credit

Upon Reading an affidavit of John fosset & thomas Brown concerning Some reports that the Indians Intended a disturbance his Excellency proposed Giveing orders to the Collonells of the Severall regiments of the Severall Countys that they Should order Strict Inquiry to be made by the Captus under them whether all the inhabitants are duely provided with Arms & Ammunition according to An Act And oblidge them to Comply with the Said Act

Ordered that the Secre write Circular letters forthwith to the Same Effect to the Severall Collonells in his Excellencys Name

Att A Councill held at Perth Amboy ye 25th of August Ann Domi 1827 [1727]

His Excellency the Governour Laid before this board a proclamation from Great Brittain Dated at Leicester house the 14th of June last proclaiming the high & mighty prince George prince of Wales (by the death of our Late Sovereign of Happy memory)' our Lawfull & right full Leigh Lord George the Second by the grace of God of Great Brittain france & Ireland King defender of ye faith &

And haveing Likewise read his present Majties Declaration in Councill Dated the 14th of June last It is Ordered by this board that his present majte King George the Second be forth with proclaimed with the Usuall Solemnity's in the city of Perth Amboy and that printed proclamations to that Effect together with printed copys of his present majty most Gratious declarations be Sent to the Clarks of the Severall Countys to be published forthwith in the Said Countys in the most publick places thereof And thereupon his Excellency took the oaths appointed to be taken to his present majtis as Likewise the Gentlemen of the Councill did the Same

His Excellency produced to the board his late majties warrt appointing Cornelius Vanhorn Councellor for the province of New Jersey the Said Cornelius Vanhorn took the Usuall oaths to his present maj" as also the oath of A Councellor & the S Cornelius Vanhorn took his place at the board accordingly weh warrt is as follows

Trusty and well beloved wee Greet you well Wee being well Satisfied of the Loyalty Integrity & ability of our Trusty and well beloved Cornelius Cornelius Vanhorn Esqr have thought fitt hereby to Signify our will & pleasure to you that forth with upon the receipt hereof you Swear and admit him the Said Cornelius vanhorn to be one of our Councill of that our province of New Jersey in America in the Room of David Lyell3 Esqr deceased and for So doing
