To them, who, by patient continuance in well doing, seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life, Rom. ii. 7. For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be like-minded one toward another, according to Christ Jesus, Rom. xv. 4, 5. For ye have need of patience; that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise, Heb. x. 36. Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh. Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the Judge standeth before the door.
