The same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon Him. Romans x. 12.

And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask any thing according to His will, He heareth us. 1 John v. 14.

THE fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Proverbs ix. 10.

Thou shalt fear the Lord thy God, and serve Him. Deuteronomy vi. 13.

What doth the Lord thy God require of thee,

but to fear the Lord Thy God, and to walk in all His ways? Deuteronomy x. 12.

The secret of the Lord is with them that fear Him; and He will show them His covenant. Psalm xxv. 14.

Come, ye children, hearken unto me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord. Psalm xxxiv. 11.

O fear the Lord, ye His saints; for there is no want to them that fear Him: happy is the man that feareth alway; but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief. Psalm xxxiv. 9.

O how great is Thy goodness, which Thou hast laid up for them that fear Thee! Thou, even Thou art to be feared: and who may stand in Thy sight, when once Thou art angry ? Psalm xxxi. 19. lxxvi. 7.

In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and His children shall have a place of refuge. Who art thou that shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man who shall be made as grass, and forgettest the Lord thy Maker? Proverbs xiv. 26. Isaiah li. 12, 13.

I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear fear Him, which after He hath killed, hath power to cast into Hell; yea, I say unto you, fear Him. Luke xii. 5.

Unto you that fear My name shall the Sun (a) of righteousness arise, with healing in His wings. In every nation, he that feareth God and worketh righteousness is accepted with Him. Malachi iv.

2. Acts x. 35.

Surely His salvation is nigh them that fear Him. Psalm lxxxv. 9.

Fear God, and keep His commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. Ecclesiastes xii. 13.

(a) Jesus Christ, who is the light of the spiritual world, as the Sun is of the natural world, of the earth and heavens.

THOU shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind; this is the first and great commandment. Matthew xxii. 37, 38.

The Lord preserveth all them that love Him; all things work together for good to them that love God. Psalm cxlv. 20. Romans viii. 28.

Know therefore that the Lord thy God He is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love Him and keep His

commandments to a thousand generations. Deuteronomy vii. 9.

Delight thyself in the Lord, and He shall give thee the desire of thine heart. Psalm xxxvii. 4.

Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him. 1 Cor. ii. 9.

This is the love of God that we keep His commandments: whoso keepeth His word, in him verily is the love of God perfected. 1 John v. 3.

Therefore choose life, that thou mayest love the Lord thy God, and that thou mayest obey His voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto Him; for He is thy life and the length of thy days. Deuteronomy xxx. 19, 20.

Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. Jude 21.

He that loveth father or mother more that Me (saith our Saviour) is not worthy of Me; and he that loveth son or daughter more than Me, is not worthy of Me. Matthew x. 37.

I will love Thee, O Lord, my strength; let them that love Thy name be joyful in Thee. Psalm xviii. 1. v. 11.

On hoping and trusting in God.

WAIT on the Lord, be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart; wait, I say, on the Lord. Psalm xxvii. 14.

The Lord is good unto them that wait for Him, to the soul that seeketh Him; it is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord. Lamentations iii. 25, 26.

The Lord redeemeth the soul of His servants, and none of them that trust in Him shall be desolate the Lord shall help and deliver them; He shall deliver them from the wicked and save them, because they trust in Him. Psalm xxxiv. 22. xxxvii. 40.

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not to thine own understanding: commit thy way unto Him, and He shall bring it to pass. Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee. Proverbs iii. 5. Psalm xxxvii. 5. lv. 22.
