about those ten words of which Jesus said (St. Matt. xix. 17), 'If thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.'

Prayer.

O Eternal Father, I am Thy child; let me not sin against Thee by any wrong thoughts or wrong desires. Let me not sin against my neighbours in that which is nearest and dearest to them. Give me victory in every temptation, by Thy Holy Spirit, for the sake of Thy Son, Jesus.

O Jesus, help me and save me. Ghost, help me and save me.

O Holy

I desire to keep myself from every shadow of impurity, and from the faintest beginnings of sin. O Jesus, Thou didst die for me.

O Holy Ghost, Thou art my Sanctifier. Help me, who am very weak, O Blessed Spirit of love, to keep all the commandments of God.

O adorable Trinity, help and bless me, whom Thou hast made in Thy own image and likeness. Save me, whom Thou didst

create for Thyself. O Blessed Trinity, O Blessed Trinity, O Blessed Trinity.

Thanksgiving for the Ten Commandments.

I listen to Thee, my God, amid the thunders of Horeb, and I watch for Thee amid the lightnings of Sinai. Thy voice. is terrible and sweet. Thy brightness is like a devouring fire. Thy light is sweet as Thy love, and Thy love is gleaming as the splendour of Thy light.

O my Maker, my Redeemer, my Sanctifier, I bless Thee for all Thy gifts; but now I bless Thee for Thy commandments. Thy commandment is exceedingly broad. Thou dost teach me Thy law, and I delight in it; for I believe in it and love it and walk in it day by day. Thy statutes are truth and Thy ways are truth. Thou art near, O Lord, to those who seek Thee. Thy commandments are my meditation and my food in the house of my pilgrimage. They have a beauty that comes from Thee, and they are the blessedness of the soul

that has joy in them. By them Thou givest me wisdom. All Thy commandments are faithful; they are confirmed for ever and ever; they are made in truth and justice. My lips shall utter a hymn to Thee, the living God; for Thou dost teach me Thy law.

O my God, Thou didst come down on Mount Sinai in fire, and the smoke rose from it as from a furnace, and all the mount was terrible.

Thou didst speak Thy ten words from the midst of the fire and the cloud and the darkness, and Thou didst write them in two tables of stone. I bless and praise Thee for these life-giving words; and I pray that I may always have them in my heart.

O Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, adorable Trinity, give me grace to keep Thy commandments that I may enter into life, and see Thee, face to face and eye to eye, who art blessed for evermore.
