LI.-PART II.

TOUCH Thou my lips, my tongue untie,
O Lord, I do Thee humbly pray;
And then my mouth shall testify

Thy praise and wond'rous works alway.

And as for outward sacrifice,

I would have offer'd many one;
But Thou esteem'st them of no price,
And therein pleasure takest none.

The heavy heart, the mind opprest,
O Lord, Thou never dost reject;
This sacrifice indeed is best,

And this Thou chiefly dost expect.

Lord, unto Sion turn Thy face,

Pour out Thy mercies on Thy hill, And on Jerusalem Thy grace,

Build up her walls and love her still.

PSALM LXI.

WHEN Overwhelm'd with grief
My heart within me dies,
Helpless and far from all relief
To heaven I lift mine eyes.

Oh lead me to the rock

That's high above my head,
And make the covert of Thy wings
My shelter and my shade.

P

Within Thy presence, Lord,
For ever I'll abide ;
Thou art the tow'r of my defence,
The refuge where I hide.

Oh give me then the lot

Of those that fear Thy name; If endless life be their reward, May I possess the same.

PSALM LXVIII.

LET God arise, and all His foes
Vanish like smoke before His face,
While richest blessings rest on those
Who trust the guidance of His grace.

Praise ye Jehovah's name, whose throne
Is fix'd above the starry sky;
Who calls the orphan child His own,
And wipes the widow's tearful eye.
He bids the mourner's heart rejoice,
And breaks the captive's heavy chain :
The proud foe trembles at His voice,
And peace and plenty smile again.
Lord, lead us with Thy gracious pow'r
While pilgrims in this world we roam,
That we may hail the joyful hour

That calls the weary wand'rers home.

PSALM LXXI.

My God, my everlasting hope,
I live upon Thy truth;
Thy hands have held my childhood
And strengthen'd all my youth.

Still hath my life new wonders seen
Repeated every year:

Behold! my days which yet remain,
I trust them to Thy care.

up,

Reject me not when strength declines,
When hoary hairs arise;
And round me let Thy glory shine
Whene'er Thy servant dies.

Then in the hist❜ry of my age,
When men review my days,
They'll read Thy love in ev'ry page,
In ev'ry line Thy praise.

PSALM XC.

O GOD, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Our refuge from the stormy blast,
And our eternal home.

Before the hills in order stood,
Or earth receiv'd her frame,
From everlasting Thou art God,
To endless years the same.

A thousand ages in Thy sight,
Are like an ev'ning gone;

Short as the watch that ends the night
Before the rising sun.

So teach us to compute our days,
And so our hearts apply,

That safely we, through wisdom's ways,
May reach eternity.

PSALM XCIX,

THE Lord Jehovah reigns,
Let all the nations fear;
Let sinners tremble at His feet,
And saints be humbled there.

In Zion is His throne,

His honours are divine:

His truth shall make His wonders known, For there His glories shine.

How holy is His name!

How awful is His praise!

Justice, and truth, and wisdom join

In all His works of grace.

Exalt the Lord our God,
And worship at His feet :
His nature is all holiness,
And mercy is His seat.

PSALM CIII.

My soul repeat His praise,
Whose mercies are so great;
Whose anger is so slow to rise,
So ready to abate.

High as the heav'ns are rais'd
Above the ground we tread,
So far the riches of His grace
Our highest thoughts exceed.

The pity of the Lord

To them that fear His name ;
Is such as tender parents feel;
He knows our feeble frame.

All Thy compassions, Lord,
To endless years endure;
And children's children ever find
Thy words of promise sure.

PSALM CIV.—PART II.

How sundry, O Lord, are all Thy works found! With wisdom full great they are indeed wrought; So that the whole world of Thy praise doth sound; And as for Thy riches, they pass all men's thought.

All things on Thee wait, Thou dost them relieve, And Thou in due time full well dost them feed; And when it doth please Thee the same for to give, They gather full gladly those things which they need.

Thou open'st Thy hand, and they find such grace That they with good things are filled we see; But sore they are troubled if Thou hide Thy face, For if Thou their breath take, vile dust then they be.
