If then ye risen are with Christ,
Seek only how to gain

The things that are above, where Christ
At God's right hand doth reign.

HYMN IX.

FOR EASTER DAY.

JESUS Christ is risen to-day,
Our triumphant holy-day;
Who did once, upon the cross,
Suffer to redeem our loss.

Hallelujah!

Hymns of praise then let us sing
Unto Christ our heavenly King!
Who endur'd the cross and grave
Sinners to redeem and save.

Hallelujah!

For the pains which He endur'd
Our salvation have procur'd;
Now, above the sky He's King,
Where the angels ever sing

HYMN X.

Hallelujah!

FOR WHIT SUNDAY.

COME, Holy Ghost! Creator, come! And visit all the souls of thine; Thou hast inspir'd our souls with life, Inspire them now with life divine.

Enlighten our dark souls, till they
Thy love, Thy heav'nly love embrace;
And since by nature we are frail—
Assist us with Thy saving grace.

Teach us the Father to confess,

And Son, who from the grave reviv'd ;
And, with the Father and the Son,
Thee, Holy Ghost! from both deriv'd.

With Thee, O Father! therefore may
The Son, who was from death restor❜d,
And the great Comforter-one God-
To endless ages be ador'd!

HYMN XI.

FOR WHIT SUNDAY.

COME, Holy Ghost! our souls inspire,
And lighten with celestial fire;
Thou the anointing Spirit art,
Who dost thy sevenfold gifts impart !

Thy blessed unction from above
Is comfort, light, and fire of love!
Enable with perpetual light
The dulness of our blinded sight:

Anoint, and cheer our soiled face
With the abundance of Thy grace;
Keep far our foes; give peace at home;
Where Thou art guide, no ill can come !

Teach us to know the Father, Son,
And Thee of both, to be but one;
That, through the ages all along,
Thy praise may be our endless song.

HYMN XII.

FOR TRINITY SUNDAY.

FATHER of all! whose love profound,
A ransom for our souls have found,
Before Thy throne we sinners bend,
To us thy pard'ning love extend.

Almighty Son! Incarnate Word!
Our Prophet, Priest, Redeemer, Lord!
Before Thy throne we sinners bend,
To us Thy saving grace extend.

Eternal Spirit! by whose breath
The soul is rais'd from sin and death!
Before Thy throne we sinners bend,
To us Thy quick'ning power extend.

Jehovah

Father, Spirit, Son! Mysterious Godhead! Three in One! Before Thy throne we sinners bend, Grace, pardon, life to us extend.

HYMN XIII.

FOR TRINITY SUNDAY.

GLORY be to God on high!
God whose glory fills the sky;
Peace on earth to man forgiven,
Man the well-belov'd of Heaven.

Sovereign Father! heavenly King!
Psalms of praise to Thee we sing;
Glad Thine attributes confess,
Glorious all and numberless.

Thee our Lord and God we own,
Christ! the Father's only Son;
Lamb of God for sinners slain,
Saviour of offending man.

Holy Spirit! Power Divine!
Honour, glory, praise be Thine:
Thou, with Father and with Son,
Art supreme, eternal One!

Hail! by all Thy works ador'd!
Hail! the everlasting Lord!
Thee with thankful hearts we prove,
Lord of power and God of love!

HYMN XIV.

BEFORE THE HOLY COMMUNION.

My God! and is Thy table spread?
And doth Thy cup with love o'erflow?
Thither be all Thy children led,

And let them all its sweetness know.

Hail! sacred feast, which Jesus makes,
Rich banquet of His flesh and blood!
Thrice happy he, who here partakes
That sacred stream, that heavenly food!
Why are such dainties all in vain,

Before unwilling hearts display'd!
Was not for you the victim slain?
Are you forbid the children's bread?
Let crowds approach with hearts prepar'd,
With hearts inflamed let all attend;
Nor, when we leave our Father's board,
The pleasure or the profit end.

HYMN XV.

THE SINNER'S LAMENTATION.

O LORD! turn not Thy face away from them that lowly lie,

Lamenting sore their sinful life, with tears and

bitter cry!

Thy mercy-gates are open wide to them that mourn their sin;

Oh! shut them not against us, Lord, but let us enter in.

We need not to confess our fault, for surely Thou canst tell

What we have done ;-and what we are, Thou knowest very well;

Wherefore to beg and to entreat, with tears we come to Thee,

As children that have done amiss fall at their father's knee.
