ADVERTISEMENT.

THE present edition of the CLERGYMan's AsSISTANT embraces those alterations, either by insertion or retrenchment, which the legislature has rendered necessary; and, considering the period which has elapsed since the last edition was published, those alterations have been greater than might have been expected.

With a view to render the work more practically useful, and to afford a ready introduction to its contents, a short Digest, or outline of every Statute, has been prefixed, and notes and references have been interspersed wherever they were deemed requisite. The Forms and Directions have been revised and increased in number, and the Index has been remodelled and much enlarged.
