THE CLERGYMAN'S ASSISTANT, BEING A COLLECTION OF STATUTES, ORDINANCES, AND FORMS, WITH NOTES AND REFERENCES, RELATING TO THE RIGHTS, DUTIES, AND LIABILITIES OF THE CLERGY. TO WHICH ARE PREFIXED THE ARTICLES OF RELIGION, AND THE CONSTITUTIONS AND CANONS OF THE A NEW EDITION, ENLARGED AND CORRECTED. OXFORD, AT THE CLARENDON PRESS. MDCCCXXVIII. Clar. Press 10 ADVERTISEMENT. THE present edition of the CLERGYMan's AsSISTANT embraces those alterations, either by insertion or retrenchment, which the legislature has rendered necessary; and, considering the period which has elapsed since the last edition was published, those alterations have been greater than might have been expected. With a view to render the work more practically useful, and to afford a ready introduction to its contents, a short Digest, or outline of every Statute, has been prefixed, and notes and references have been interspersed wherever they were deemed requisite. The Forms and Directions have been revised and increased in number, and the Index has been remodelled and much enlarged. LINCOLN'S INN, October 15, 1828. CHARLES ELLIS. |
