Some of the subjects introduced are necessarily touched upon in the writer's "Hints to Mothers;" there they have, however, been only briefly alluded to; to this work their more full exposition properly belongs. In the present edition it has been thought advisable to alter the arrangement of the contents; to divide them into two parts. The first directs the mother how to manage the child in health h; the second, in sickness.
