FOR ACCEPTANCE AND PROTECTION.

O HEAVENLY FATHER, Who pitiest those that fear Thee, even as a father pitieth his children; look in compassion upon us, who have sinned against Thee, and who feel that we are not worthy to be called Thine. Receive us into the embraces of Thy love, and let us stray from Thee no more, but ever dwell under the shelter of Thy care; through Jesus Christ, our Mediator and Advocate. Amen.

LOVE.

O LORD, Who hast taught us that Knowledge puffeth up, but Love edifieth; enable us to take heed to our ways, and to walk circumspectly, lest our liberty may become a stumbling-block to our weaker brethren, for whom Christ died; grant this prayer, O Lord, for His Name's sake. Amen.

To Christ, the EverlastinG ONE. (ISA. ix. 6.)

O LORD JESUS, the Everlasting One, the beginning and the ending, which is, and was, and which is to come, the Almighty; receive the prayers of Thy servants, accept their offerings of praise and thanksgiving, and to Thee be glory, majesty, and dominion, now and through eternity. Amen.

SATURDAY MORNING.

'Our Father,' etc.

MORNING PRAYER.

O GOD, to Whom one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day; be with us on this the last day of another week. Bless us in the closing hours of toil, and prepare us for Thy Holy Rest Day, with all its privileges and means of grace. May we obtain in them new strength for our Christian course, till we come at last into Thy glorious presence, where time shall be no more. Grant this prayer for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

FOR THE CHRISTIAN CHURCH.

O LORD CHRIST, Who wert raised from the dead, and made to sit at the right hand of God in heavenly places, far above all rule and authority; as thou reignest in Heaven, so reign in Thy Church on earth; cleanse and purify it, that it may be a glorious Church, without spot or blemish, or any such thing; and to Thee be power and dominion above every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come, now and for Amen.

evermore.

THE EARTHLY TABERNACLE.

FORASMUCH as we know, O God, that if the earthly house of this tabernacle be dissolved, we have a building from Thee, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens; grant unto us that we may be of good courage, and be satisfied, as Thou willest, either to be at home in

the body and absent from our Lord, or absent from the body and at home with Him; but either way, and at all times, may it be our aim to do what is well pleasing in Thy sight; through the same Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

AGAINST Worldliness.

DELIVER US, O God, from the snares of the world. Enable us, though in the world, not to be of it, and while seeking to serve Thee in the place where Thou hast called us, to shine brightly for Christ, and to adorn the doctrine of our Saviour in all things. Grant this prayer, O Lord, for His Name's sake. Amen.

FOR RELATIVes, Friends and Neighbours.

O HEAVENLY FATHER, Who rulest all things; bless, we beseech Thee, our near and dear relatives, who are connected with us by ties of kindred and affection; bless also our friends with whom it is our privilege to live in terms of kindness and friendship; bless our neighbours also, and enable us, through Thy grace, to live peaceably with all men, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

MORNING Prayer.

and bless us on this Thy Bless us in our prayers

ALMIGHTY FATHER, be with us, Holy Day of rest and praise. and thanksgivings, bless us in our songs of praise, and bless us in listening to Thy Word of light. May all the means of grace, with which Thou hast so abundantly supplied us, bear rich blessings to our souls, to our comfort, and to Thy glory, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

FOR GRACE TO OFFEr Praise.

ALMIGHTY GOD, Who hast made us a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to Thee, through Jesus Christ; give us grace to offer up our praise to Thee continually, that is the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to Thy Name; and to Thee, O Father, with Thy Son and the Holy Spirit, be glory, honour, and worship, now and for evermore. Amen.

ZEAL FOR GOD'S HOUSE.

O Lord Jesus CHRIST, Who wert zealous when on earth for the honour of Thy Father's house; give us now a like zeal and love for the House of Prayer, and make it to us indeed the House of God, and the Gate of Heaven.

May we enter it with reverence and godly fear, and find in it pardon and peace to our souls, through Thy Name, our Blessed Lord and Saviour. Amen.

THE RESURRECTION.

O GOD, forasmuch as we know that Thy blessed Son Jesus Christ, being raised from the dead, dieth no more, and that death hath no more dominion over Him; grant unto us, that like as He was raised from the dead by Thy glory, we may be raised from the death of sin, and have grace to walk in newness of life, to the praise of Thy Holy Name, through the same Jesus Christ our risen Lord and Saviour. Amen.

FOR HUMILITY.

O ALMIGHTY GOD, Who from Thy Throne in heaven dost deign to hearken to the prayers of Thy people; fill us with true humility, and enable us in all our works for Thee to confess that we are but unprofitable servants, and have only done what it was our duty to do. Grant this for the sake of our only Lord and Master, Jesus Christ. Amen.

THE TRUE Bread.

O LORD JESUS CHRIST, Who art the True Bread from Heaven; grant that, partaking with thanksgiving of this heavenly food, we may have eternal life, and be raised. up at the last day, to live with Thee in Thy glory, world without end. Amen.
