Attend, my soul, the voice divine,
And mark what beaming glories shine
Around thy condescending God!

To us, to us, he still proclaims
His awful, his endearing names:

Attend, and sound them all abroad.

MISCELLANY, NO. VII.

Children should not be Mockers.

C. M.

OUR tongues were made to bless the Lord,
And not speak ill of men;
When others give a railing word,
We must not rail again.

Should any dare be so profane,
To mock, and jeer, and scoff,
At holy things, or holy men,

The Lord shall cut them off.

What we are afraid to speak before men, we should be afraid to think before God.

I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue.-PSALM Xxxix. 1.

Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly, and for sinners, for unholy and profane.-1 TIM. i. 9.

The Honor due to God.
