A SMALL HISTORY of ENGLAND.

intended to be useful. By a LADY. 2s. neatly bound in cloth, lettered, and gilt edges.

This little compilation is divided into Centuries, and

each page contains one such period. The respective lines of Kings are marked out by different colours, and the events connected with each reign by corresponding coloured lines. This arrangement tends greatly to assist the memory in retaining dates and periods relative to the

History of England; and is useful also as a book of

reference whilst reading that of other Countries. (5359)

Mr. Boys, in announcing the above, begs to state, that he has determined to print only the same number of Proofs as were taken of the Portrait of the Duke, and which have now become so scarce and valuable.

ORIENTAL ANNUAL for 1839 will be published early in October. It will be edited by THOMAS BACON, Esq. Author of " First Impressions and Studies from Nature in Hindoostan," and contain firstrate Engravings from Drawings by Stanfield, Roberts, Creswick, Dibdin, &c. after original and recent sketches by the Editor.

The Proprietors take this opportunity of cautioning the Trade against an imitation of this work, which they understand is in preparation by certain parties who have obtained possession of some sketches made in India many years ago by the late Mr. Daniell, the artist originally employed on this Annual The Proprietors would have felt perfectly willing to leave the two books to a fair comparison, but as they find that their title is to be imitated as closely as the law will allow, they think the present caution necessary to prevent the possibility of the other work being inadvertently ordered instead of "THE ORIENTAL ANNUAL."
