GUIDE to TRADE-THE PRINTER. 1s.

To supply a manifest deficiency in the books already published for the education of the industrial classes, the publishers have undertaken a series of works (which will be brought out at the cheapest rate), whose chief object is to prepare young persons for the choice of an occupation, by instructing them in the peculiar duties, and, as far as requisite, in the technical details of the various departments of SERVICE OF TRADE in which they are likely to be engaged as they advance in life. It is, of course, not contemplated herein to teach every thing that should be known in a Trade, or to point out the whole details of a Service,-but to give such a general knowledge of the occupations which the mass of the people are called upon to follow, as may prepare the young for the proper discharge of their duties, and systematize much bel information which the adult has now, to learn without a Guide. These works iv. contain a mass of authentic and amusing the various departments of industry in ich will be useful and interesting to all will be illustrated, when necessary, with ry woodcuts.

KIDD'S NEW CATALOGUE nearly TWO HUNDRED POPULAR PUBLICATIONS is now ready, and may be had GRATIS.

"We cannot," says one of our leading reviewers, "but regard Mr. KIDD as the MOST successful of modern Publishers; and when we take into consideration the immense number, as well as the great and interesting (we may add extraordinary) variety and utility of the publications-no two of them being in any way alike-that have emanated from his fertile pen, we know not which to admire most, his tact or his talent.... The peculiarly handsome manner in which the respective books are got up, and the remarkably low prices at which they are issued, effectually prevent competition both at home and abroad; and prove their proprietor to be an able General' in every sense of the word ... Mr. KIDD has courted popularity, and he has long since obtained it in (we believe) every quarter of the globe." (5861) London: W. Kidd, 7, Tavistock Street, Covent Garden. Manchester: Bancks and Co.
