THE PRAYER OF THE GUILD.

(To be said Daily.)

HEAVENLY Father, bless me and all the members of our Guild. Grant that we may faithfully observe our holy resolutions, and live as Thy children ought to live, daily increasing in Thy Holy Spirit more and more, until we come to Thy everlasting kingdom; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

A FORM OF MAKING INTERCESSION PRIVATELY

IN CHURCH.

Kneel reverently, and remind yourself of God's presence to hear your prayer. Then say:

[ocr errors]

LORD Jesus, I come near to Thee in the confidence of Thine own promise: "Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in My name, I will give it you." Make Thou my prayer acceptable on behalf of all who need.

After which say:

Lord, have mercy upon us.

Christ, have mercy

upon us. Lord, have mercy upon us. Our Father, &c.

Then proceed with the subject of intercession. Never mind how few the words you use, but let the heart speak fervently.

When this is done, you may conclude with:

O Lord, deal not with us after our sins,
By Neither reward us after our iniquities.

The Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save,

R Nor His ear heavy, that it cannot hear.

God be merciful to me a sinner.

The Almighty and merciful LORD, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, bless, preserve, and keep me, and all the Israel of God, now and for evermore. Amen.

Office of the Guild.

IN the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.

Our Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil; for thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.
