Lord, have mercy upon us.

Our Father, &c.

O God, make speed to save us.
R O Lord, make haste to help us.
Praise ye the Lord.

R The Lord's Name be praised.

Then, all standing, shall be said or sung one or both of the following Psalms.

I

Glory be, &c.

PSALM XXXIV. Benedicam Domino.

WILL alway give thanks unto the Lord: his praise shall ever be in my mouth.

2 My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.

3 O praise the Lord with me: and let us magnify his name together.

4 I sought the Lord, and he heard me: yea, he delivered me out of all my fear.

5 They had an eye unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.

6 Lo, the poor crieth, and the Lord heareth him: yea, and saveth him out of all his troubles.

7 The angel of the Lord tarrieth round about them that fear him: and delivereth them.

8 O taste and see, how gracious the Lord is : blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

9 O fear the Lord, ye that are his saints: for they that fear him lack nothing.

10 The lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they who seek the Lord shall want no manner of thing that is good.

II Come, ye children, and hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the Lord.

12 What man is he that lusteth to live and would fain see good days?

13 Keep thy tongue from evil: and thy lips that they speak no guile.

14 Eschew evil, and do good: seek peace, and ensue it.

15 The eyes of the Lord are over the righteous: and his ears are open unto their prayers.

16 The countenance of the Lord is against them that do evil to root out the remembrance of them from the earth.

17 The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth them: and delivereth them out of all their troubles.

18 The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a contrite heart and will save such as be of an humble spirit.

19 Great are the troubles of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of all.

20 He keepeth all his bones: so that not one of them is broken.

21 But misfortune shall slay the ungodly: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.

22 The Lord delivereth the souls of his servants: and all they that put their trust in him shall not be destitute.

Quomodo dilexi.

ORD, what love have I unto thy law : all the day long is my study in it.

2 Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with

me.

3 I have more understanding than my teachers : for thy testimonies are my study.

4 I am wiser than the aged: because I keep thy commandments.

5 I have refrained my feet from every evil way: that I may keep thy word.

6 I have not shrunk from thy judgments: for thou teachest me.

7 O how sweet are thy words unto my throat: yea, sweeter than honey unto my mouth.

8 Through thy commandments I get understanding therefore I hate all evil ways.

Then shall follow the Lesson S. MATT. V., 17 to 21, or some other passage.

Then, all standing, shall be said

THE APOSTLES' CREED.

The Lord be with you,

R And with thy spirit.

Let us pray.

O God, take not Thy holy Spirit from us;
R But renew Him daily in our hearts, and

save us.

Teach us to do the thing that pleaseth Thee. R For Thou art our God.

Show Thou us the way that we should walk in, R For we lift up our souls unto Thee.

Lord, hear our prayer,

R And let our cry come unto Thee.

Go

OD, who didst teach the hearts of Thy faithful people by the sending to them the light of Thy Holy Spirit, grant us by the same Spirit to have a right judgment in all things, and evermore to rejoice

in His holy comfort; through the merits of Christ Jesus our Saviour, who liveth and reigneth with Thee, in the unity of the same Spirit, one God, world without end. Amen.

Church Workers' Prayer:

ALMIGHTY and everlasting God, who hast created

things, and hatest nothing that Thou hast

made, look down in mercy on our parish. Bless every undertaking in it for Thy glory and the good of Thy creatures, especially the work of teaching in the Sunday Schools in which we are engaged. Send down the healthful spirit of Thy grace upon the Clergy of this parish; and bless every member of the same with Thy choicest spiritual blessings. Root out from among us the deadly sins of drunkenness and unchastity, of worldliness and lukewarmness; confirm the good in their goodness, fix the waverers; bring the wanderers back to Thy fold; and, in Thy good time, unite us all in the One Fold, under the One Shepherd, Jesus Christ our Lord; who with Thee and the Holy Ghost, liveth and reigneth eyer, one God, world without end. Amen.

GOD, without whom nothing is strong, nothing is holy, strengthen us that we may be patterns of holiness to those we teach; grant to us the spirit of prayer, fill our hearts with the love and understanding of Thy Holy Word, make us worthy teachers in Thy Holy Church, and pardon all our failings; for the sake of Jesus Christ, Thy Son, our Lord. Amen.
