Whatever may be

the extent of religious knowledge, to which they may have reached, "the light of the moon" is becoming to them "as the light of

the sun," and "the light of the sun" may become realised to them, to be "seven fold, as the light of seven days." How deeply are we interested, then in believing in the light.

"While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light." Those who are gathered to the divine light of Christ, are united in him; they are members of his Church; they are brothers and sisters in the true spiritual relationship. These have come to an experimental knowledge of the truth; they have become initiated into true church-membership, through the only medium, answerably to that apostolic testimony, "by one spirit all are baptised into one body." These I say are brethren and sisters; and they can salute one another, in the "one heart" and the "one soul." And blessed be his eternal name-are we not bound to believe, that there are yet many within the pale of this religious society, who are thus enriched; who are bound together by that bond, which binds-the love of God, in Christ Jesus, our Lord. These, cannot only acknowledge one another as brethren and sisters, within the same pale; but they can also recognise others, who as children of the light, have become members of the Church of Christ, and are our brethren and sisters. Such has been the influence upon their souls, of the same heavenly principle of which we make profession, that they are brought to the knowledge and obedience of the same thing.

These, however sectionally divided, however scattered and dispersed, are our brethren and sisters; they are members of that church, of which Christ is the glorious Head; that universal church, embracing all kingdoms, nations, tongues and people.Oh! then, my friends, while we have light, let us be believers in the light, and become children of light.
