Yesterday morning a waggon-load of flour coming to town, was feized by a mob juft on the other fide of Chelmsford; it was carried into that town, and cried to be fold to the dif treffed poor at 1s. 6d. per peck. April 17. His Majefty was attended yesterday to the House of Peers by his Grace the Duke of Ancafter, and the Earl of Denbigh, when the royal affent was given to 50 public and private bills. On Wednesday was examined at the Pub. lic Office, in Bow-ftreet, one G. fervant to a man who keeps a mad-houfe, who lately called on Mrs Elizabeth Mill, and, under pretence of friendship, told her that her hufband was arrested, and was at the Black Dog, a public houfe, in Shoreditch. The poor woman, anxious to fee her hufband, ftepped into a coach with G. but foon found herfelf in the fields, inftead of going to Shoreditch. She remonftrated, but in vain; the coach ftopped at a madhoufe on Bethnal Green. She then declared the would not enter the houfe, as it was not a public houfe, and her hulband was not there. G, then forced her out of the coach, and dragged her by the legs into the house with a moft brutal violence. The mistress of the honfe now appeared called her mad bh, and ordered her to be fhaved, &c. They then proceeded to hand-cuff and chain her, and treated her with great severity.
