glorify Thee; we fall down, we worship, we adore Thy glorious majesty; evermore praising Thee, and saying, Salvation be unto our GoD which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever. Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our GOD, for ever and ever.

We give thanks unto Thee, O LORD, for all the blessings and mercies of this life; but especially for Thine inestimable love, in the Redemption of the world, by the Sacrifice and Death of Thy SON; through Whom Thou hast adopted us into Thy family, and caused the light of Thy truth to shine into our hearts, giving us the knowledge of Thy glory in the face of JESUS CHRIST. May we not receive Thy grace in vain, but walk as children of the light and of the day; may the light of life shine forth in us; may we do all things in the name of the LORD JESUS, that walking in all Thy commandments and ordinances blameless, men may see our good works and glorify Thy holy name.

Let Thy presence be with us, and with this whole household and family this day; keep us from all evil ghostly and bodily; and bless and prosper us in all our occupations and callings in life. We bear on our hearts before Thee, all with whom we are

connected in the bonds of kindred and friendship; supply all their spiritual, mental, and temporal necessities; and may they be one in Thee, O FaTHER, and in Thy SON JESUS CHRIST.

Hear us, heavenly FATHER, for all mankind whom Thou hast redeemed; and especially for Thy Holy Church throughout the world. O GOD, Who for the faithlessness, and sins of Thy people, hast covered Thine inheritance with the cloud of Thine anger; do Thou for Thy mercy and for Thy truth's sake, again shine in upon the darkness of our hearts with the effulgence of Thy glory in CHRIST JESUS; O GOD, Who hast laid upon His shoulder the key of Thine house, and given all power into His hands in heaven and earth; restore unto us, we beseech Thee, Thine ordinances, whereby Thou willest to guide Thy flock; grant unto Thine Elect out of all the tribes of Thy true Israel, the seal and confirmation of Thy Holy Spirit; pour out upon us His holy unction; fill us with His consolations, and quicken us with the hope of the speedy Advent of Thy SON our LORD; that, being purified by the same hope even as He is pure; taking up our cross and following Him, in the path of humiliation, whithersoever He shall lead us, we may at length behold His face in righteousness, and receive that crown of

glory, which is laid up for all who keep the faith of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, and love His appearing. These, and all other needful things, for ourselves, our relatives, and Thy whole Church, we ask in the alone Name, and Mediation of Thy SON, JESUS CHRIST.

Exhortation.

O come, let us worship, and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD our Maker.

Confession.

O most holy and merciful FATHER, Who hast given Thine only begotten SON JESUS CHRIST, to redeem us from all iniquity, and to purify us unto Thyself a peculiar people, zealous of good works: We confess before Thee, with shame and confusion of face, that we have not walked according to Thy Gospel; we have been unmindful of Thy love and goodness; we have forgotten, and lightly esteemed our high and holy calling; we have not been filled with the blessed Hope of the glorious appearing of our LORD and SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST; and so we have failed to purify ourselves as He is pure. Instead of honouring Thee in Thine ordinances, and

seeking the restoration of Thy gifts, by which Thou wouldst perfect Thy Church, we have impeded and resisted Thy grace in many ways, and grieved Thy Holy Spirit. Forgive, O LORD, all our sins, and iniquities, whereinsoever we are guilty before Thee, as Thy children, and as a family of Thy people. Wash away our sins, through the most precious blood of Thy SON; and grant us Thy peace. Give us to meditate on Thy Holy Word in the light of the HOLY GHOST; that receiving Thy truth in love we may grow up into CHRIST in all things, and feed upon Him by faith, as the true Paschal Lamb slain for us; that being fulfilled with Thy grace and heavenly benediction, we may yield ourselves unto Thee, to do Thy holy and blessed will; and live to Thine honour and glory, through the same, Thy SON JESUS CHRIST.
