that in celebrating this holy season, our souls may be inflamed with heavenly desires, and Thy love be so shed abroad in our hearts by the HOLY GHOST, that seeking those things which are above, where CHRIST sitteth at Thy right hand; and abiding in. purity of heart and mind, we may at length attain unto Thine everlasting kingdom; there to dwell in the glorious light of Thy presence, for ever; through the same, JESUS CHRIST Our LORD.

Ascension Day.

Grant, we beseech Thee, heavenly FATHER, that we may duly celebrate the glorious Ascension of Thy SON JESUS CHRIST; who was, as on this day, received up into glory, and made Head over all things unto His Church; May we in heart and mind ascend thither where He is, and with Him continually dwell; may we be so filled with His Spirit that we may ever be conscious of His abiding presence with us, according to His most gracious promise; and being devoted to His service, and looking for His second glorious appearing, may we behold His face in righteousness; through the same, Thy SON JESUS CHRIST.

Pentecost.

Almighty God, Who, as at this time, didst enlighten and sanctify Thy faithful people by sending them the HOLY GHOST the Comforter; grant unto us, we beseech Thee, to be enriched with His manifold gifts, and patiently to endure through the darkness of this world, that we may be found with oil in our vessels, and with our lamps burning, when He cometh in His kingdom; Who liveth and abideth with Thee, in the unity of the HOLY GHOST, One GOD, world without end.

Another.

GOD, who as at this time didst teach the hearts of Thy faithful people, by the sending to them the light of Thy HOLY SPIRIT; grant us by the same Spirit to have a right judgment in all things, and evermore to rejoice in His holy comfort; through the merits of CHRIST JESUS Our SAVIOUR, Who liveth and reigneth with Thee, in the unity of the same Spirit, one GOD, world without end.

All Saints.

O Almighty God, Who hast knit together Thine

elect in one communion and fellowship, in the mystical Body of Thy SON CHRIST our LORD; grant that we, with all Thy saints, both living and departed, may increase with the increase of GOD; that in the day of the manifestation of Thy glory, when the LORD our GOD shall come and all His saints with Him, we may be found very members of Thy CHRIST; and be used of Thee, as the channel by which Thou wilt fill all things, and accomplish all Thy counsel. Hasten, O LORD, the perfecting of Thy Church. Fulfil Thy promises to Thine ancient people Israel; restore unto them the land of their inheritance; and do Thou give reward unto Thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and to them that fear Thy Name, both small and great, through JESUS CHRIST Our LORD.

O Everlasting GOD, Who hast ordained, and constituted the services of angels and men in a wonderful order; mercifully grant, that as Thy holy angels alway do Thee service in heaven; so by Thy appointment they may succour and defend us on earth, through JESUS CHRIST Our LORD.

In Sickness.

O Almighty God, to Whom alone belong the

issues of life and death; look down from heaven, we beseech Thee, according to the multitude of Thy tender mercies upon Thy servant [-] whom Thou hast afflicted with grievous sickness. O Thou that art the eternal health of those who trust in Thee, have compassion upon his infirmities; absolve him from all his sins; comfort him with the consolations of Thy Holy Spirit, and restore him to soundness of bodily health, that he may give thanks unto Thy holy name, and praise Thee with joyful lips, through JESUS CHRIST Our LORD.

O GOD, Who art our refuge and strength, a very present help in time of trouble; extend, we beseech Thee, Thine accustomed goodness to Thy servant [] now visited with sickness; rebuke the disease under which he labours, and raise him up from his bed of affliction; sanctify Thy fatherly correction to his soul's health; let a sense of his weakness add strength to his faith, and seriousness to his repentance, that he may lead the rest of his life in Thy fear, and to Thy glory, through our Lord JESUS CHRIST.
