We are not worthy to draw near unto Thee, or even to lift our eyes unto heaven ; but Thou art the same LORD, whose property is ever to have mercy; we beseech Thee, therefore, Heavenly FATHER, to look upon us according to Thine infinite mercies, and to blot out all our sins, iniquities, and transgressions, through the most precious blood of Thy dear SON for He is the very Paschal Lamb slain for us, in whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sin. Most Merciful GOD and FATHER, whose love and power are infinite, who hast made all things by and for Thy SON JESUS CHRIST; and hast given Him to be Head over all things unto Thy Church; We adore Thy holy name for having kept us during the day past from all those evils to which we are exposed, through the infirmities of our nature, the malice of the devil, and the wickedness of the world; and for Thy great goodness, in having brought us into Thy presence at the close of this day; giving us grace to come before Thee in the name, and through the mediation of Thy beloved SoN, to present our evening worship unto Thee; which we do with the joy of our hearts; for Thou art our Praise, and worthy to receive all honour and glory, adoration and blessing.
