"Ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life."-Jude 20, 21.

8,7,8,8.

136 O FATHER blest! Thy Name we sing,
Whose power the world upholdeth :
And Thee, O Christ, of kings the King,

Whose love our souls enfoldeth:
And Thee, O Holy Ghost, we praise;
Oh, be our guide through all our days.

2. O Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,
The God of our salvation!

The Church on earth and heavenly host
Are one in adoration.

With heart and mind may we adore

Our gracious God for evermore.

Amen.

"The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: the Lord make His face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: the Lord lift up His countenance upon thee, and give thee peace."-Num. vi. 24-26.

137 LEAD us, heavenly Father, lead us

8's.&7's.

O'er the world's tempestuous sea;
Guide us, guard us, keep us, feed us,
For we have no help but Thee;
Yet possessing every blessing,
If our God our Father be.

2. Saviour, breathe forgiveness o'er us,
All our weakness Thou dost know,
Thou didst tread the earth before us,
Thou didst feel its keenest woe:
Lone and dreary, faint and weary,

Through the desert Thou didst go.

3. Spirit of our God descending,
Fill our hearts with heavenly joy;
Love with every feeling blending,
Pleasures that can never cloy.
Thus provided, pardoned, guided,
Nothing can our peace destroy.

"Through Him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father."

138 FATHER, in whom we live,

S.M.

In whom we are,

and move,

Eph. ii. 18.

The glory, power, and praise receive

For Thy creating love.

2. Incarnate Deity,

Let all Thy ransomed race

Employ their lives in thanks to Thee,

For Thy redeeming grace.

3. Spirit of Holiness,

Let all Thy saints adore

Thy sacred gifts, and join to bless
Thy heart-renewing power.

4. The grace on man bestowed,
Ye heavenly choirs, proclaim,
"Salvation to our God,

And cry,

Salvation to the Lamb."

"I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty."

139 0 THOU, whom neither time nor space Can circle in, unseen, unknown, Nor faith in boldest flight can trace,

Rev. i. 8.

Save through Thy Spirit and Thy Son!

2. And Thou, that from Thy bright abode,
To us in mortal weakness shown,
Didst graft the manhood into God,
Eternal, co-eternal Son!

3. And Thou, whose unction from on high
By comfort, light, and love is known,
Who with the Parent Deity,

Dread Spirit, art for ever One!

4. Great First and Last! Thy blessing give;
And grant us faith, Thy gift alone,

To love and praise Thee while we live,

And do whate'er Thou wouldst have done.

General Subjects.

(From PSALM cl.)

140 PRAISE, oh! praise the Name Divine, Praise it at the hallowed shrine;

7's.

Let the firmament on high

To its Maker's praise reply.

2. Every tongue, with one accord,
Praise the Name of Jacob's Lord;
Let His acts and power supreme
To your songs afford a theme.

3. Be the harp no longer mute;

Sound the trumpet, touch the lute;
Wake to life each tuneful string;
Bring the pipe, the timbrel bring.

4. Let the organ in His praise

Learn its loudest notes to raise;
And the cymbal's joyful sound
From the vaulted roof rebound.

5. All who vital breath enjoy,

In His praise that breath employ;
And with holy zeal proclaim
Glory to Jehovah's Name.

(From PSALM cxlviii.)

141 PRAISE the Lord, ye heavens, adore Him,
8'ε.&7's, Praise Him, angels in the height;
double. Sun and moon, rejoice before Him,

Praise Him, all ye stars of light;
Praise the Lord, for He hath spoken;
Worlds His mighty voice obeyed;
Laws that never shall be broken

For their guidance He hath made.

2. Praise the Lord, for He is glorious;
Never shall His promise fail;

God hath made His saints victorious;
Sin and death shall not prevail :
Praise the God of our salvation,

Hosts on high, His power proclaim;
Heaven, and earth, and all creation,
Laud and magnify His Name.

"A voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye His servants, and ye that fear Him, both small and great."-Rev. xix. 5.

142 COME, let us join our cheerful songs

C.M.

With angels round the throne;

Ten thousand thousand are their tongues,
But all their joys are one.

2. "Worthy the Lamb that died," they cry,
"To be exalted thus!"

"Worthy the Lamb!" our lips reply,
"For He was slain for us."
