additional Articles on Behalf of Dr. Welton, relating to fuch pretended Presentation, to fhew the Nullity and Abfurdities of it; and the Admiffion of fuch Allegation of Doctor Welton, and the additional Articles thereto, were appointed to be heard upon the following Court-Day.

Now we are come fo far in the Steps of Proceedings, and are speaking of the Plea or Allegation, and additional Articles, it will be proper, in Course, to fet forth the very Allegation, and additional Articles exhibited in the Caufe, and pray'd to be admitted on the Part and Behalf of Dr. Welton, which are as follows.

Oughton mine Procuratorio ac ut Procurator legitimus,dicti ReverendiViri Richardi Welton, Sacra Theologia Profefforis, omni meliori via, modo,& furis forma; necnon ad omnem quemcunq; Furis effectum (exinde quovismódo fequi valen dixit, allegavit,

(in his Scriptis) in Jure. propofuit, articulatim; prout Sequitur, viz.

Imprimis, That the Reverend Richard Welton, Doctor in Divinity, being in Holy Orders, (of Deacon and Prieft) was rightly and duly prefented (in or about the Month of March, in the Year of our Lord 1697) by Mr. .. . Nicholas, the (then and prefent) true and undoubted Patron of the Rectory of the

the Parish-Church of St. Mary Matfellon, (aliàs White-Chapel) in the County of Middlefex, and Diocess of London, to the Rectory of the Parish-Church of St. Mary Matfellon (aliàs White-Chapel) aforefaid, then vacant by the Death of the late Reverend William Payne, Doctor in Divinity, the then laft immediate Incumbent there) together with all and fingular the Rights, Members, and Appurtenances thereof. Ponit tamen de quolibet alio tempore. Et ponit Pars ifta proponens, conj'm, divm, & de quolibet.

Item, That the faid Dr. Richard Welton, foon after the faid Prefentation (in the precedent Article mention'd) legally had and made, (as aforefaid) and in Purfuance thereof, was (by the Authority of the Right Reverend Father in God, Henry, then Lord Bishop of London) duly and canonically admitted, inftituted, invefted, and inducted into the Rectory of the Parish and ParishChurch of St. Mary Matfellon (alias White-Chapel) aforefaid; together C 4 with

with all and fingular the Rights, Members, and Appurtenances thereof; and put into the real, actual, and corporal Poffeffion of the fame. Ponit tamen de quolibet alio tempore, &c. Et ponit ut fupra.

Item, That the faid Dr. Richard Welton hath read the Thirty Nine Articles, and declar'd his Affent and Confent thereto, and to the Book of Liturgy, or Uniformity of the Common Prayer, (in Manner as by Law requir'd) and hath done and perform'd all other Matters and Things whatsoever (which by Law he ought to do) to qualify and enable him to be compleat Parfon, Incumbent, and Rector of the faid Rectory of the Parish and Parish-Church of St. Mary Matfellon (aliàs White-Chapel) aforefaid. And this was, and is, true, publick, and notorious. Et ponit ut fupra.

Item, That the faid Dr. Richard Welton is, and for the Space of nineteen Years laft paft, or thereabouts, hath been the lawful and undoubted Parfon,
