On comparing fpiritual things with fpiritual.

I COR. ii. 13.

WHICH THINGS WE SPEAK, NOT IN THE WORDS, WHICH MAN'S WISDOM TEACHETH; BUT WHICH THE HOLY GHOST TEACHETH, COMPARING SPIRITUAL THINGS WITH SPIRITUAL.

WHEN St. Paul planted the gofpel at Corinth, he found his defigns chiefly opposed by two kinds of people.

The first were men of pleasure. Corinth lay commodioully for trade; and trade produces
