About the author (1998)

About the Author Bill Goodwin was an award-winning newspaper reporter before becoming a legal counsel and speech writer for two U.S. senators, Sam Nunn of Georgia and the late Sam Ervin of North Carolina. In 1977 he sailed a 41-foot yacht from Annapolis, Maryland, to Tahiti; he then spent a year exploring French Polynesia and the rest of the South Pacific. He is now based in northern Virginia but returns to paradise as often as possible. He also is the author of Frommer's Virginia, co-author of Frommer's Florida and Frommer's Florida from $50 a Day, and editor of Frommer's USA. In addition, he served as regional editor for the first edition of Frommer's America on Wheels Mid-Atlantic.
