Show us in his hallowed courts
All the glories of his name!
3 Here reveal thy mercy Lord,
Answer our believing prayers;
Grace and strength to us afford,
Cheer our hearts, and hush our cares.

GOD

2 TIMOTHY ii. 19.

OD's foundation standeth sure,
Saints shall to the end endure;
Safely will the Shepherd keep
Those whom he has made his sheep;
God's foundation standeth sure,
Saints shall to the end endure.

2 Known to him before the sun
First begun his course to run;
Chosen, called from above,
Objects of eternal love;

God's foundation standeth sure,
Saints shall to the end endure.

3 More of faith and love impart,
Form thine image in each heart;
All thyself in us reveal,

We the clay and thou the seal:
God's foundation standeth sure,
Saints shall to the end endure.

4 May we, from each evil free,
Die to sin, and live to thee;

7's.

From the snares of hell defend,
Love us, keep us, to the end:
God's foundation standeth sure,
Saints shall to the end endure.

GOD'S

GALATIANS iii. 10.

OD'S holy law, transgressed,
Speaks nothing but despair;

S. M.

Burdened with guilt, with grief oppressed, We find no comfort there.

Not all our groans and tears,

Nor works which we have done, Nor vows, nor promises, nor prayers, Can e'er for sin atone.

Relief is only found

In Jesus' precious blood;

"Tis this that heals the mortal wound, And reconciles to God.

Nailed to the painful cross,

The sacred victim dies;
This is salvation's only source,
Hence all our hopes arise.

173 PSALM CXXXVI. HEBREWS xiii. 5-8.

1

GOD's mercy

is for ever sure,

Eternal as his name;

As long as life and thought endure,
We will this truth proclaim.

2 We basely sinned against his love,
And yet our God was good;

C. M.

Christ came our ruin to remove,

And we are bought with blood.

3 That precious blood atones for sin,
And fully clears from guilt;
It makes the vilest sinner clean;
It was for sinners spilt.

4 Christ raised us from the lowest state,
Or hell had been our doom;
And did our hearts regenerate,
And saves from wrath to come.

5 No foe against us can prevail,
Since he is now our friend;
In danger other help may fail,
But we on him depend.

[blocks in formation]

1OOD is the Lord; it is his love
Which makes the earth to yield;
His clouds drop fatness from above,
His sunbeams bless the field.

2 Good is the Lord; his liberal hand
Is daily opened wide,

To scatter plenty through the land,
That all may be supplied!

3 Good is the Lord; who gives us bread,
And gives his people more;

By him our souls with grace are fed,
A rich and endless store.

EPHESIANS ii. 5

GMelodious to the ear;

RACE! 'tis a cheering sound,

Heaven with the echo shall resound,
And all the earth shall hear.

Grace first contrived a way
To save rebellious man,

And all the means that grace display,
Which drew the wondrous plan.

Grace guides our wandering feet
To tread the heavenly road;

And new supplies each hour we meet
While pressing on to God.

Grace all the work shall crown,
Through everlasting days;

It lays in heaven the topmost stone,
And well deserves the praise.

EXODUS XX. 24. MATTHEW Xviii. 19.

8. 7. 4.

1 GRACIOUS Lord, as thou hast taught us, We are come to seek thy face;

'Tis thy providence has brought us
Here to wait thy promised grace;
Let thy presence
Fill and glorify the place.

2 Here thy name has been recorded;
Here thy promised blessing give;

Let thy grace to us afforded,
Teach us how to die and live,
Come and bless us,

May we all thy grace receive.

3 May thy love, our hearts constraining,
Make the love of sin depart;
May thy Spirit, in us reigning,
Baffle Satan's power and art,
God of goodness

Reign in every rescued heart.

MATTHEW Xix. 13-15.

RACIOUS Lord, our children see:
By thy mercy we are free;
But shall they, alas, remain
Subjects still of Satan's reign?
Hear us when from day to day,
We for their conversion pray.
2 Lord we tremble, for we know
Satan, their malignant foe,
Keeps them ever in his sight;
Seeks their ruin day and night;
Oh, convert them King of kings.
And protect beneath thy wings.

GRACIOUS Spirit, power divine,

All our unbelief remove,
Give us faith and holy love.
