3 Foes are many, strong and daring, Sin abounding like a flood, But the Saviour is preparing Means to spread his truth abroad: Every language
Soon shall tell the love of God.
4 God of mercy, high and glorious, Let thy people see thy hand; Make the gospel soon victorious, Save the lost in every
Perish at the Lord's command.
1 HAIL to the Lord's anointed,
Great David's greater Son;
Hail, in the time appointed, His reign on earth begun : He comes to break oppression, To set the captive free; To take away transgression, And rule in equity.
2 He shall come down like showers Upon the fruitful earth; And joy, and hope, like flowers, Spring in his path to birth: Before him, on the mountains, Shall peace, the herald, go; And righteousness, in fountains, From hill to valley flow.
3 Arabia's desert-ranger
To Him shall bow the knee; The Ethiopian stranger
His glory come to see;
With offerings of devotion, Ships from the isles shall meet, the wealth of ocean
4 Kings shall fall down before Him, And gold and incense bring, All nations shall adore him, His praise all people sing: For he shall have dominion O'er river, sea, and shore; Far as the dove's light pinion, Or eagle's wing can soar.
5 For him shall prayer unceasing, And daily vows ascend; His kingdom still increasing, A kingdom without end: The mountain dew shall nourish A seed in weakness sown; Whose fruit shall spread and flourish, And shake like Lebanon.
7 O'er every foe victorious,
He on his throne shall rest; From age to age more glorious, All blessing and all blest:
The tide of time shall never
His covenant remove; His name shall stand for ever His great, best name of love.
ISAIAH ix. 6. REVELATION i. 18.
HAIL to the Prince of life and peace,
Who holds the keys of death and hell; The spacious world unseen is his,
And sovereign power becomes him well.
2 In shame and torment once he died, But now he lives for evermore, Exalted at his Father's side: Angels and saints your King adore.
3 So live for ever glorious Lord, Convert thy foes, and guard thy friends; Thy reign our triumph doth afford, Thy glorious kingdom never ends.
4 For ever reign, thou Prince of Peace, Wide thro' the earth thy name be known; In heaven thy praises never cease, May earth redeemed its Saviour own.
PSALM ii. 12.-xxxii. 1, 2.
1 HAPPY are the sons of God,
They are bought with Jesus' blood,
They are ransomed from the grave, Life eternal they will have:
All their sins are washed away, Bright to them the judgment day; With them numbered may we be, Here, and in eternity.
2 Children of a heavenly birth, They are blessings to the earth: They produce the fruits of grace, In the works of righteousness: One with God, with Jesus one, Glory is in them begun;
With them numbered may we be, Here, and in eternity.
3 Though by wisdom taught, they fly From forbidden revelry,
Yet they have superior joys, Which not death itself destroys; Blessed of God, for ever blessed, They with Jesus soon will rest: With them numbered may we be, Here, and in eternity.

Chosen, called, and reconciled,
Bearing once a rebel's taint, Now a duteous, humble saint,
2 Whilst thou art upon the earth God, who did appoint thy birth,
Watches o'er thee, and shall shed Hourly blessings on thy head.
3 Through all changes of thy state, Christ will be thy Advocate;
On his friendship thou may'st rest, Jesus lives to make thee blessed.
4 God the Spirit dwells within, To deliver thee from sin, He will comfort, guide, defend, And preserve thee to the end.
5 Happy Christian! cease to fear, Christ is thine, and heaven is near; Thou shalt endless joy possess,
God secures thy happiness.
202 ECCLESIASTES xii. 1, 2. 2 TIMOTHY iii. 15. C. M. 1 HAPPY the child whose tender years,
Receives instruction well,
Who hates the sinner's path, and fears The road that leads to hell.
2 When we devote our youth to God, 'Tis pleasing in his eyes;
For 'tis his grace, though in the bud, And shall to glory rise.
3 Twill save us from a thousand snares, To mind religion young;
Grace will preserve our following years, And make our virtues strong.
