So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard saith unto
his steward, Call the laborers, and give them their hire,
beginning from the last unto the first.

burden and heat of the day.

But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong; didst not thou agree with me for a penny? 20:13 Take that thine is, and go thy way: I will give unto this 14 last, even as unto thee.

Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? 20:15 Is thine eye evil, because I am good?

Matt. So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be 20:16 called, but few chosen.

And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, 10 and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

But Abraham said, Son remember that thou in thy lifetime 11 receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted and thou art tormented.

THE FINAL CALL

And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and
hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.
For I say unto you. That none of these men which were bidden
shall taste of my supper.

And as they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it, and gave to them, and said, Take, eat: this is my body. -Mark 14:22.

Lord, evermore give us this Bread.

THE GOOD SEED AND THE TARES

-John 6:34.

Matt. The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed 13:24, good seed in his field: But when men slept, his enemy came 25 and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.

So the servants of the householder came and said unto him,
Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence
then hath it tares?

He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants
said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them
up?

Matt. But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root 13:29 up also the wheat with them.

Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time o Matt. harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first tl: tares and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

I am the true vine

if a man abide not in me, he is cast

forth as a branch and is withered.
