luit of the flesh. . For the flesh lufteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh ; and these are contrary the one to the other ;, so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led by the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these, Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, ftrife, feditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like; of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they who do fuch things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But che fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance : against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's, have crucified the felh, with the affections and lufts.

Amen.

The Gospel. St Luke xvii. u.
ND it came to pass, as Jesus went to Jerusalem, that

he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, who stood afar off. And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus Master, have njercy on us. And when he saw theim, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priefts. And it came to pass, that as they went, they were cleansed. And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks; and he was a Samaritan, And Jesus answering, said, Were there not cen cleansed ? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, fave this stranger. And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way, thy faith hath made thee whole.

shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised only left they should suffer persecution for the Cross of Christ. For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your fiefh. But God forbid that I thould glory, lave in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Ifracl of God. From henceforth let no man trouble me, for I bear in my boly the marks of the Lord Jelus. Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.

The Gospel. Matth. vi. 24.
O man can serve two masters : for either he will hate

the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despite the other. Ye cannot serve God and Mammon. Therefore I lay unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on : Is not the life more than neat, and the body than raiment? Behold, the fowls of the air ; for they fow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them: Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature ? And why take ye thought for raiment ? Consider the lilies of the field how they grow : they toil not, neither do they spin : And yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore if God so clothe the grats of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven ; fhall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or what shall we drink? or wherewithal shall we be clothed ? (for after all thee things do the Gentiles feek) for your heavenly Father knowech that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye firit the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto

you.

The Epistle. Ephef. iii. 13. Desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for

is your glory. For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man: That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith ; that ye being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all faines, what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height ; and to know the love of Christ, which paffeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, unto him be glory in the Church by Christ Jesus, throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
