O Blessed LORD JESUS, who didst go to the FATHER, to prepare a place for Thy disciples; Be with us, we beseech Thee, by Thy Holy Spirit the Comforter, and abide with us according to Thy most gracious promise, that when Thou shalt come again Thou mayst receive us unto Thyself, to be with Thee for ever, Who livest and reignest with the FATHER and the HOLY GHOST, one GOD, world without end. Blessed are they that do hunger and thirst after Righteousness: for they shall be filled. The Lesson. Wisdom vii. 25-27. For Wisdom is the Breath of the power of GOD, and a pure stream flowing from the Glory of the Almighty: therefore can no defiled thing fall into her. For she is the Brightness of the Everlasting Light, the Unspotted Mirror of the Power of GOD and the Image of His Goodness. For being but One she can do all things, and remaining to herself she maketh all things new and in all ages entering into Holy Souls, she maketh them friends of GOD and Prophets. Rev. xxii. 1–5. And He shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of GOD and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
