2 Jesus, our great High Priest,
Hath full atonement made:
Ye weary spirits, rest;

Ye mournful souls, be glad :
The year of jubilee is come;
Return, ye ransom'd sinners, home.

3 Extol the Lamb of God,
The sin-atoning Lamb;
Redemption by his blood

Throughout the world proclaim:

The year of jubilee is come;
Return, ye ransom'd sinners, home.

4 Ye slaves of sin and hell,
Your liberty receive,
And safe in Jesus dwell,

And blest in Jesus live:

The year of jubilee is come;
Return, ye ransom'd sinners, home.

5 Ye who have sold for naught
Your heritage above,
Shall have it back unbought,
The gift of Jesus' love:

The year of jubilee is come;
Return, ye ransom'd sinners, home.

6 The gospel trumpet hear,
The news of heavenly grace;
And, saved from earth, appear
Before your Saviour's face:

The year of jubilee is come;
Return, ye ransom'd sinners, home.

HYMN

LUNG'D in a gulf of dark despair, We wretched sinners lay, Without one cheerful beam of hope, One spark of glimm'ring day.

2 With pitying eyes the Prince of peace
Beheld our helpless grief;
He saw, and, oh! amazing love,
He flew to our relief.

3 Down from the shining seats above,
With joyful haste He sped;
Enter'd the grave in mortal flesh,
And dwelt among the dead.

4 Oh, for this love let rocks and hills
Their lasting silence break,
And all harmonious human tongues
The Saviour's praises speak!

5 Angels assist our mighty joys,
Strike all your harps of gold;
Yet, though ye raise your highest notes,
His love can ne'er be told.

II. 4.

Jor wisdom, love, and power,

That ever mortals knew,

Or angels ever bore;

All are too mean to speak His worth,

Too mean to set the Saviour forth.

2 Great Prophet of our God,
Our tongues shall bless Thy name;
By Thee the joyful news

Of our salvation came,

The joyful news of sins forgiven,
Of hell subdued, and peace with heaven.

3 Jesus, our Great High Priest,
Offer'd his blood and died;
Our guilty conscience seeks
No sacrifice beside:

Thy powerful blood did once atone,
And now it pleads before the throne.

4 0 thou Almighty Lord,

Our Conqueror and our King,
Thy sceptre and Thy sword,

Thy reigning grace we sing :
Thine is the power; behold we sit
In willing bonds beneath Thy feet.

blood of bird or beast,

On Jewish altars slain,

Could give the guilty conscience rest,
Or wash away the stain.

2 But Christ, the heavenly Lamb,
Takes all our sins away;

A sacrifice of nobler name,
And richer blood than they.

3 My faith would lay her hand
On that dear head of Thine,
While like a penitent I stand,
And there confess my sin.

4 My soul looks back, to see

The burden Thou didst bear,
When hanging on the accursed tree,
And reads her pardon there.

5. Believing, we rejoice

To see the curse remove ;

We bless the Lamb with cheerful voice,
And sing His bleeding love.

HERE is a fountain fill'd with blood,
Drawn from Immanuel's veins;

And sinners plung'd beneath that flood,
Lose all their guilty stains.

2 The dying thief rejoiced to see
That fountain in his day;
And there may I, as vile as he,
Wash all my sins away.

3 Dear, dying Lamb, Thy precious blood Shall never lose its power,

Till all the ransom'd church of God
Be saved, to sin no more.

4 E'er since, by faith, I saw the stream
Thy flowing wounds supply,
Redeeming love has been my theme,
And shall be till I die.

5 Then in a nobler, sweeter song,
I'll sing Thy power to save;
When this poor lisping, stamm'ring tongue
Lies silent in the grave.

HYMN

FOR a thousand tongues, to sing
My great Redeemer's praise;
The glories of my God and King,
The triumphs of His grace.

2 My gracious Master, and my God Assist me to proclaim,

And spread, through all the earth abroad, The honours of Thy Name.

3 Jesus! the Name that charms our fears, That bids our sorrows cease;

'Tis music in the sinner's ears,
"Tis life, and health, and peace.

4 He breaks the power of reigning sin,
He sets the prisoner free;

His blood can make the foulest clean;
His blood avail'd for me.
